About this role
Assembles designated products such as pumps, partially or completely, working at a bench or on shop floor.
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
• Assemble equipment according to knowledge of unit being assembled or following blueprints using hand and power tools and some measuring devices.
• Checks completed units, ensuring proper alignment of parts and components and notes any need for modification.
• Conducts or assists in final test to ensure proper operation of parts.
• Notifies management of malfunctions.
• Assists in trouble shooting, noting need for corrective action.
• Conducts hydrostatic tests as required or directed.
• Grind components as necessary to meet the requirements of individual components.
• Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required. • 3-5 years of related experience and/or training – preferred. JOB REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to read blueprints. • Ability to set up and assemble pumps as normally acquired through Vo-Tech training. • Knowledge of shop safety practices. • Knowledge of quality assurance as normally acquired through in-house seminars and training. • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in oral, diagram, or schedule form. • Above average skills in: Retaining Instruction. • Demonstrated ability to: Progressively Assemble. • General knowledge of: Mechanical applications and aptitude. PHYSICAL/NON-PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; reach with hands or arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
