About this role

Summary

Under the guidance of the Financial Controller, the Cash Office Clerk plays a crucial role in maintaining the financial integrity of Red Deer Resort & Casino. This position is responsible for accurate cash handling, reconciliations, and maintaining proper records of cash transactions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Based on job description includes but is not limited to:

• Add new vendors as required: Maintain an alphabetical file of vendors.

• Perform daily cash reconciliation and ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions.

• Maintain and update cash vaults and ensure appropriate levels of currency at all times.

• Prepare daily revenue reports, balancing of credit cards, and room charges and deposit documentation.

• Collaborate with various departments to resolve any discrepancies or issues related to cash handling.

• Adhere to established cash handling procedures and policies to maintain a secure and controlled environment.

• Empty VLT machines and securely transport cash to the Cash Office for counting and reconciliation.

• Computes & verifies cash-out reports of servers, FD agents and Banquets.

• Coordinates cash discrepancies if any.

• Performs other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education, Qualification and Requirements

• Clear Criminal record check will be required upon hire.

• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in cash handling or related field.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in numerical calculations.

• Proficient in using computer and MS Office.

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.

Work Environment

• This position can involve sitting for long periods.

• The person may encounter problems of eyestrain due to looking at the computer, and if they spend a lot of time typing, there will be a repetitive motion.

• The environment is usually quiet, but it can become very stressful when business operations ramp up.

• It often involves juggling many tasks and helping many people at once.

Hours of Work

• The individual must be adaptable and flexible with their time as the work hours for this position will vary depending on operational requirements. Work may include early mornings, late nights, weekend shifts, and holidays.
