Position Summary:
Ground Up International is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Full-Time Office Cleaner to join our in-house team. This role is designed to provide on-site coverage during the afternoon and early evening hours, keeping our office looking its best while the team is still present. The ideal candidate takes pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming workplace, brings a proactive attitude, and pays close attention to detail in every area they service.
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Office Cleaner will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness across all areas of the Ground Up International office, including the general office floor, conference rooms, reception area, kitchen/coffee area, and all bathrooms. During the first part of the day focus on restocking, cleaning and maintaining the organization of conference rooms, common areas and kitchens while the office is active. After business hours, focus on deep cleaning that can’t be done during the day. Specific responsibilities are outlined below.
General Office
• Wipe clean all glass surfaces at eye level daily
• Spot clean all floors daily (5x/week); full sweep 3x/week
• Empty all wastebaskets and replace liners as needed (5x/week)
• Collect recycling and bring to designated area (5x/week)
• Wipe, dust, and disinfect occupied desks/workstations weekly (1x/week)
• Wipe clean empty workstations monthly (1x/month)
• Dust and clean all vertical and horizontal surfaces, including file cabinets and shelves (1x/week)
• Clean windowsills, moldings, and ledges throughout (1x/week)
• Sweep and mop all floors — to be completed at the end of the shift, after 5:00 PM (2x/week)
• Flag anything in the office that isn't presentable to the appropriate dept (if things are peeling off the walls, wires are sticking out from under desks, etc.) (as needed)
• Clean out and prepare a desk when a new hire is starting, including wiping all surfaces, clearing any items, and ensuring the workspace is fully ready for use
• Close down the office each night by tidying all conference rooms and turning off lights (M – Th at 5:30PM)
• Close down the office on Fridays by tidying all conference rooms, turning off their lights, shutting down experience lights, turning off all office TVs, and restocking everything before the end of your shift (Fri at 5:30PM)
Conference Rooms
• Wipe clean and disinfect all conference tables (5x/week)
• Organize tables and chairs after each use (5x/week)
• Vacuum carpet (5x/week)
• Replenish snacks and mini fridges throughout the day (as needed)
• Raise and push in all chairs throughout the day, specifically after meetings end (as needed)
• Close down the office each night by tidying all conference rooms and turning off the lights (5:30PM each day)
Reception & Main Entrance
• Sweep and mop reception and entrance floors (2x/week)
• Spot-sweep and mop any spills or garbage immediately (5x/week)
• Wipe clean reception desk and all flat surfaces (5x/week)
• Wipe front doors and handles clean of fingerprints throughout the day as needed (5x/week)
• Restock claw machine (as needed)
• Restock snack cart and goodie bags throughout the day (as needed)
• Remove garbage and replace liner (5x/week)
• Turn off all lights in this area at end of day (5x/week)
Kitchens & Coffee Area
• Sanitize and disinfect all countertops, cabinet exteriors, and appliance surfaces (5x/week)
• Sanitize and disinfect coffee machine handle and buttons (5x/week)
• Wipe clean and disinfect outside of refrigerator (5x/week)
• Sanitize, disinfect, and damp-wipe water cooler (5x/week)
• Run dishwasher at the end of each workday and return all clean dishes, glassware, and utensils to their proper place before end of shift (5x/week)
• If anything should be hand washed, place on drying rack and clear drying rack at end of shift (5x/week)
• Sweep and mop kitchen floor (5x/week)
• Wipe clean and disinfect all tables and countertops; organize chairs as needed throughout the day (5x/week)
• Clean the coffee machine as needed (usually 2x/day)
• Restock and replenish all kitchen items throughout the day (as needed)
• Work with Facilities Coordinator to make sure we have backstock of every item to ensure nothing runs out (as needed)
• On Fridays, send a message in Ground Up Family Channel one hour before end of business day, letting them know you will be cleaning out the fridge of old food
• Clean out all fridges - wipe down shelves and throw away old food
Bathrooms
Bathrooms require thorough attention throughout the day. The following tasks are to be completed 5x/week:
• Sanitize, disinfect, and deodorize all toilets and urinals, including flush meters and toilet seat hinges
• Restock toilet paper to maximum capacity in all stalls — ensure all holders are fully stocked at the end of every shift
• Refill paper towel dispensers (5x/week)
• Pay extra close attention to automatic soap dispensers — check that all dispensers are functioning properly, fully filled, and free of buildup or residue. Report any malfunctions to the office manager immediately
• Wash both sides of all toilet seats
• Dust all partitions, tile walls, dispensers, and receptacles
• Damp-wipe and clean all countertops and sinks
• Wipe clean all lavatory mirrors
• Sweep, mop, sanitize, and disinfect lavatory floors
• Throughout the business day do a quick, light clean of each bathroom twice and replace garbage liners if needed (2x/day)
• Remove all garbage and replace liners (2x/day)
Merch Store & Candy Shop
• Wipe clean and disinfect countertops and dust surfaces (2x/week)
• Restock merchandise, clothes and candy as needed throughout the week (5x/week)
• Keep count of inventory, and update inventory documents (as needed)
• Restock backstock when deliveries of candy and merch arrives (as needed)
• Sweep and mop floors (5x/week)
All cleaning supplies, chemicals, liners, garbage bags, and consumable bathroom supplies (toilet paper, paper towels, soap) are provided by Ground Up International. The employee is responsible for tracking when supplies are running low and notifying the office manager so restocking can be arranged in a timely manner.
Shift Schedule & Hours:
To maximize effectiveness and minimize disruption to daily business, we recommend the following schedule:
• Regular Schedule: Monday – Friday, 11:30 PM – 8:00 PM (5 hours/day, 40 hours/week).
• Weekend Flexibility: Saturday, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM (On-call / special requests only).
• Daily Workflow:
• 11:30 AM – 5:00 PM: Focus on restocking, cleaning and maintaining the organization of conference rooms, common areas and kitchens while the office is active.
• 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM: Complete deep-cleaning tasks (sweeping, mopping, and final end-of-day cleanup) after most staff have left, ensuring a fresh office for the next morning.
Qualifications:
• Prior experience in commercial or office cleaning required
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively within the scheduled shift
• Strong attention to detail, particularly in bathrooms, kitchens, and high-touch surfaces
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
• Ability to stand, bend, and perform physical tasks for the duration of the shift
• Comfortable working around staff during afternoon hours
