As a Frontier Custom Applicator Intern, you will gain hands-on experience operating agricultural equipment, supporting agronomy operations, and learning the critical role custom application plays in modern crop production. Working alongside experienced mentors and industry professionals, you'll develop valuable technical, operational, and customer service skills while contributing to the success of local growers.

What You'll Do

As a Custom Applicator Intern, you will work closely with your mentor and agronomy team to learn custom application practices and support daily operations. Responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with the application of crop protection products and plant nutrients to customer fields.

• Learning the products, techniques, and technologies used in modern custom application operations.

• Supporting Ag Advisors to ensure orders are accurate and customer needs are met.

• Operating and maintaining application, agronomy, and grain handling equipment under appropriate training and supervision.

• Assisting with the mixing, loading, and handling of crop protection products, fertilizers, seed, and other agricultural inputs.

• Delivering bulk and packaged materials to customer locations.

• Monitoring treated fields and supporting follow-up activities related to weed control and crop performance.

• Collecting soil samples and assisting with agronomic data gathering when needed.

• Learning equipment maintenance practices and helping ensure machinery remains safe and operational.

• Developing an understanding of Frontier's business units and how they work together to support customer success.

Preferred Education & Interests

• Pursuing a degree or career path related to Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Technology, Diesel Technology, Precision Agriculture, or a related field.

• Interest in agricultural equipment, crop production, and advancing agricultural technology.

• Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

• Analytical thinking and the ability to troubleshoot operational challenges.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Collaborative, results-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety and customer service.

• Ability to repeatedly bend, kneel, climb, and walk extended distances.

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and non-climate-controlled environments.

• Ability to work in confined spaces and at elevated heights when necessary.

• Valid driver's license required.

• Ability to travel throughout Frontier's service territory as needed.
