Position Summary
We are looking for an Engineer with experience in Oil & Gas piping and isometric drawings to support the quality review of vendor-prepared piping deliverables. The role involves reviewing isometrics for accuracy and completeness, identifying technical and drafting issues, coordinating with vendors on corrections, and ensuring deliverables meet defined SOPs, project requirements, and industry standards. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and vendors to maintain high-quality outputs and support timely project delivery.
Key responsibilities
• Analyse visual and engineering data from onshore and offshore infrastructure to identify defects, asset features, and relevant engineering information.
• Perform QC reviews of piping isometric drawings prepared by external vendors, ensuring accuracy, completeness, consistency, and compliance with project requirements and SOPs.
• Identify and document errors, discrepancies, and missing information, including issues related to piping components, connections, dimensions, elevations, flow directions, and line details.
• Provide clear feedback to drafting vendors, track revisions and rework, and ensure all identified issues are resolved before final acceptance.
• Apply relevant client and industry standards during engineering reviews, inspections, and condition assessments.
• Undertake QA checks and peer reviews, where required, to maintain high-quality deliverables.
• Prepare engineering, inspection, and condition assessment reports.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical queries and support timely project delivery.
• Support the continuous improvement of SOPs, QC checklists, and quality processes.
Person specification
• Experience interpreting engineering drawings, particularly Oil & Gas piping isometrics, P&IDs, process diagrams, and technical schematics.
• Experience in piping design, isometric drafting or QC, piping inspection, construction, maintenance, or other relevant Oil & Gas activities.
• Strong understanding of piping systems, including components, valves, fittings, flanges, connections, and line information.
• Experience in quality checking, vendor deliverable reviews, and rework management.
• Familiarity with relevant engineering and Oil & Gas standards, such as API, ASME, and NACE, is desirable.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, CAD models, point clouds, or other engineering software is advantageous.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical report-writing skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and a strong commitment to quality.
• Strong vendor and stakeholder coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and tight deadlines.
• Self-driven, adaptable, collaborative, and able to work independently in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Proficient in MS Excel/Google Sheets and comfortable learning new software and technologies.
Qualification
• Bachelor’s level qualification in Mechanical, Chemical, Mechatronics, Material, Industrial, Petroleum or Civil engineering.
• 1-3 years of industry experience. Preferably in a relevant industry.
