About this role
Would you like to turn scientific insights and process technology into new ingredients that can be successfully scaled from the laboratory to full production? In this 18 months maternity cover position as an Associate Scientist, you will join the Product and Process Development team and work with New Product Development (NPD) across the entire development journey. You will help transform process, ingredient and application insights, together with commercial needs, into robust process and product designs. How you will make an impact In this role, you will act as the technical lead in NPD projects with responsibility to design, scale and validate new processes from generation of first pilot prototypes to implementation of production line and further to hand-over of new commercial ingredients to production. You may also contribute to process optimisation, technology transfer to other production sites, assessment of technical novelty and patent-related activities Your key responsibilities will be to
• Plan, design and execute trials at laboratory, pilot and production scale in collaboration with technicians and production operators. • Analyse and interpret complex process data, translate results into clear conclusions and recommend the next steps for development, optimisation or production line investments. • Develop samples, fractions and prototypes, and coordinate analyses across R&D, quality control laboratories and application teams. • Ensure strong scientific documentation by preparing technical reports that support continued development, scale-up and a smooth handover to supply chain operations. • Collaborate across research, application, production, quality, commercial and Intellectual Property teams to create shared understanding and intelligent, robust process and product designs. What will make you successful You hold a master’s degree in process engineering, food science, dairy science, biochemistry, molecular biology or a related life science discipline. Ideally, you bring one to two years of experience from product or process development within the food, dairy, ingredients or another relevant process industry. You have practical experience with process development, experimental design and data analysis at laboratory, pilot or production scale. Experience with membrane filtration such as MF, UF, NF or RO, or with another relevant fractionation technology, will be particularly valuable. To succeed in the role, you are
• Scientifically curious, with a genuine interest in understanding how processes, ingredients and applications connect. • Collaborative, with the confidence to engage technicians, scientists and stakeholders across R&D, supply chain and commercial functions. • Structured and data-driven, enabling you to plan experiments carefully, solve complex problems and document your work clearly.
• Comfortable communicating and collaborating across functions in both Danish and English, both verbally and in writing. What do we offer? You will have the opportunity to work across the complete development journey, from early ideas and proof of concept to scale-up, production and commercialisation. The role combines hands-on experimental work with data analysis, process development and broad cross-functional collaboration. As part of our Product and Process Development team, you will collaborate with specialists across R&D, Supply Chain and Commercial, giving you broad exposure and opportunities to develop both your technical expertise and project management skills. You will join a team of seven scientists who work closely with laboratory and pilot plant technicians, combining ownership of your own NPD activities with continuous scientific sparring, knowledge sharing and collaboration across projects. Would you like to join us? If you are motivated by combining science, process technology and collaboration to develop new ingredients, we would be pleased to hear from you. Please apply as soon as possible, as applications will be reviewed on an ongoing basis. When applying, please upload your CV in English. We also encourage you to upload a cover letter, which may be written in either Danish or English.
