About this role

Our client in the Seattle, WA location is currently hiring for a Payroll Tax Accountant II. This is a 12-month contract opportunity supporting a highly collaborative payroll tax team. The ideal candidate will have payroll tax filing experience, strong reconciliation skills, and experience working with systems such as SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP. This role is heavily focused on tax compliance, payroll tax remittances, audits, reporting, and year-end payroll activities.Pay - $40.00/hr. to $50.00/hr. (Depending on years of experience, payroll tax expertise, software proficiency, and relevant experience)Location - Seattle, WASchedule - Standard Monday-Friday (40 hours per week) (Responsibilities) • Ensure timely, accurate, and compliant payroll tax remittances and filings across multiple jurisdictions• Prepare, reconcile, and submit payroll tax filings including 941s and other federal, state, local, and provincial tax requirements• Balance daily payments and perform payroll tax account reconciliations• Process and reconcile stock-related payroll transactions• Analyze large volumes of payroll and tax data utilizing Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs• Support year-end payroll processing, tax reporting, and compliance activities• Investigate payroll tax discrepancies and implement corrective actions• Perform audit and compliance-related work while maintaining accurate documentation• Manage payroll tax inquiries, cases, and shared inbox communications• Update tax authority records and maintain compliance across jurisdictions• Partner with stakeholders to improve payroll tax processes and efficiencies• Develop and maintain payroll tax process documentation and policy updates• Utilize SAP, SAP EC-Payroll, SuccessFactors, ADP, and other tax compliance tools to support payroll tax operations (Qualification Requirements) • Minimum 2+ years of payroll tax experience including tax payments, reconciliations, and filings• Experience preparing and filing payroll taxes including Form 941 and related tax filings• Experience with multi-state and provincial payroll tax reporting and compliance• Knowledge of federal, state, local, and provincial payroll tax regulations• Experience utilizing SAP, SAP EC-Payroll, SuccessFactors, ADP, or related payroll systems• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, reconciliations, and large data set analysis• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively• Effective written and verbal communication skills• Customer service experience supporting internal and external stakeholders (Disqualifiers) • Less than 2 years of payroll tax filing, payment, and reconciliation experience• No experience with payroll tax compliance or tax filings such as Form 941• No experience working with payroll systems such as SAP, SuccessFactors, or ADP• Limited experience with Excel data analysis and reconciliations• No exposure to multi-state payroll tax reporting and compliance requirements (Employee Value Proposition) • Opportunity to support a highly visible and technical payroll tax function within a recognized organization• Meaningful work focused on compliance, process improvement, and business-critical payroll operations• Broad cross-functional exposure and partnership opportunities across multiple teams• Collaborative and supportive team environment with leadership support from experienced team leads• Strong work-life balance and positive team culture• Opportunity to build expertise with industry-leading payroll and tax technologies including SAP, SuccessFactors, and ADP• Gain experience working on complex payroll tax compliance, audits, year-end processing, and data analytics initiatives Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Seattle, WA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
