Aerotek is hiring a MIG Welder Immediately!Job DescriptionThe MIG Welder fabricates, fits, and welds structural steel and metal components for residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects. You will read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and fabrication specifications to produce high-quality welded assemblies that meet internal and industry standards. In this role, you work closely with the fabrication and production teams to ensure projects are completed safely, accurately, and on schedule.Responsibilities

• Perform MIG welding on structural steel, miscellaneous metals, and fabricated components in accordance with project specifications and quality standards. • Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, work orders, welding symbols, and fabrication specifications to plan and execute work accurately. • Fabricate, fit, and assemble steel components to precise dimensions, ensuring proper alignment and fit-up before welding. • Measure, mark, cut, and prepare materials using fabrication equipment and hand tools to meet required dimensions and tolerances. • Inspect welds for quality, strength, and dimensional accuracy, and make necessary adjustments or repairs to meet standards. • Operate fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, drill presses, ironworkers, and other shop machinery safely and efficiently. • Maintain compliance with all company safety policies and OSHA regulations while performing daily tasks. • Ensure proper handling, storage, and use of materials, welding consumables, and tools to prevent damage and waste. • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding and fabrication equipment to keep it in safe and reliable working condition. • Collaborate with supervisors, project managers, and team members to meet production goals, deadlines, and quality expectations. • Identify and report quality, safety, or production concerns to management and assist in resolving issues promptly. • Assist with loading, unloading, and moving fabricated materials and components within the shop as needed. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, including proper housekeeping and tool organization. • Support other shop functions as needed to ensure smooth workflow and on-time project completion. Essential Skills

• 6 months to 1 year of MIG welding experience in a steel fabrication environment preferred. • Experience working with structural steel, plate, tube, and miscellaneous metal fabrication. • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols. • Strong knowledge of welding techniques, weld quality standards, and metal fabrication practices. • Ability to accurately use tape measures, squares, levels, and other measuring instruments. • Familiarity with shop equipment, fabrication tools, and material handling equipment. • Knowledge of OSHA safety standards and safe work practices in a fabrication shop environment. • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team. • Dependable attendance and strong work ethic. • Willingness and ability to work overtime when required to meet project schedules. • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. • MIG welding proficiency, including setup and operation of MIG welding equipment. • Ability to perform basic fitting and fabrication of steel components. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Forklift experience preferred. • Overhead crane experience preferred. • AWS welding certifications are a plus but not required. • Experience with TIG welding and TIG processes is beneficial. • Exposure to working with structural steel in smaller job shop environments is advantageous. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Seaford, DE. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
