Job Title: Shop LaborerJob DescriptionAs a Shop Laborer, you will be responsible for cleaning welds on parts using a small weld cleaning unit, which involves using a mild acid and rinsing off with water and neutralizing solution. You will assist in handling parts as they come off the machines, specifically parts for food processing equipment. The role includes washing parts, lifting up to 50 lbs frequently, utilizing handheld grinders to grind, polish, and finish parts, and learning to read and interpret basic blueprints as necessary. You will stack parts on carts and pallets, sort items into inventory using a cart, and use small pencil grinders. This position involves very repetitive work, handling up to 100 parts at a time. A mechanical inclination is beneficial for success in this role. Work EnvironmentThe work environment is clean, climate-controlled, and well-lit, contributing to a comfortable workplace. The role operates on a 1st shift schedule, Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with potential extended hours until 5:30 pm and occasional mandatory shifts on Saturdays from 7:00 am to 12:00 pm. During busy seasons, employees may be required to work up to 55 hours a week. The candidate will work on the production floor with about 15 other employees, although they will be the only person in their department, positioned within 10 feet of other team members. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Frankfort, IL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
