Job Title: Entry Level MIG Welder – 2nd Shift (3PM Start Time) Job DescriptionThis role offers the opportunity to perform MIG welding on sheet metal components for commercial body flatbed products in a busy, production-focused machine shop environment. You will use your welding training and experience to produce high-quality welds and contribute to the safe and efficient operation of the facility.Responsibilities
• Perform MIG welding on sheet metal, focusing on horizontal and vertical welds to meet quality and production standards. • Read and follow work instructions, basic drawings, or job specifications related to welding tasks. • Set up, operate, and maintain MIG welding equipment and tools safely and effectively. • Inspect welds for quality, accuracy, and adherence to specifications, making adjustments as needed. • Work collaboratively with other team members in the machine shop, paint departments, and welding stations to support production goals. • Follow all safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment at all times. • Maintain a clean and organized work area around welding stations and equipment. • Support shift schedules as assigned, including the afternoon/evening shift from Monday to Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Essential Skills
• Proficiency in MIG welding, including horizontal and vertical welding on sheet metal. • Hands-on experience operating MIG welding equipment in a production or machine shop environment. • Ability to work safely around heavy equipment, large machines, paint departments, and welding stations. • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce consistent, high-quality welds. • Ability to follow safety guidelines and wear required PPE such as steel-toed shoes and safety goggles. • Willingness to work the scheduled shift: Monday through Friday, 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Completion of a vocational course in welding or previous formal welding training. • Experience working in a loud, industrial machine shop environment. • Comfort using optional hearing protection such as ear plugs in high-noise areas. • Flexibility to work other shifts in the facility if needed, including a first shift option (Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., with rare overtime). The primary schedule for this position is Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., and the facility also operates a first shift from 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with rare overtime. The setting is industrial and hands-on, ideal for individuals who prefer active work and a structured production environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Brea, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.50 - $21.50/hr.
