Job Title: DishwasherJob DescriptionThis role ensures the smooth operation of the kitchen by washing and sanitizing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area. You support the foodservice team by upholding high standards of cleanliness, assisting with deliveries, and following all safety and sanitation procedures in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. Responsibilities • Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, utensils, glassware, and kitchen tools by hand or using a commercial dishwasher. • Clean and sanitize pots, pans, trays, and other cooking and serving equipment. • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen floors, walls, and food preparation surfaces throughout the shift. • Remove trash, replace liners, and maintain sanitation standards in dish and kitchen areas. • Transfer supplies, restock dish areas, and assist with loading and unloading deliveries as needed. • Organize and store clean dishes and kitchen equipment in designated areas. • Follow all safety, food safety, and infection control procedures at all times. • Work collaboratively with kitchen and foodservice staff to support efficient service. • Monitor dishwashing machines and equipment, reporting any issues to the appropriate personnel. • Adhere to cleaning schedules and complete housekeeping tasks related to the dish and kitchen areas. Essential Skills • Previous dishwashing or food service experience preferred but not required. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs. • Strong attention to cleanliness, safety, and detail. • Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices. • Customer service oriented mindset when interacting with staff and guests. • Reliability and willingness to work rotating weekends and overtime when needed. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience in foodservice, retail, or hospitality environments. • Background in roles such as kitchen helper, line cook, cook, waiter or waitress, fast food worker, food worker, cashier, or general labor. • Experience with housekeeping, tray line service, or other kitchen support roles. • Comfort working with commercial dishwashing equipment and kitchen cleaning tools. • Retail sales or customer service experience in a hospitality or food-related setting. Work EnvironmentThis position operates in a modern, clean cafeteria and kitchen setting with state-of-the-art dishwashing and kitchen equipment. Shifts are scheduled on 1st and 2nd shift between approximately 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m., with the possibility of slight variations in hours. You may be scheduled to open or close and will work rotating weekends, with openness to overtime required. The role involves standing for extended periods, frequent movement, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in a fast-paced environment alongside a team-focused kitchen and foodservice staff. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
