Job Title: Production SupervisorJob DescriptionThe Production Supervisor oversees multiple manufacturing lines in a plant environment, leading a team of approximately 20 employees while balancing hands-on floor support with office-based planning and reporting. This role ensures production goals and key performance indicators are met, maintains standards, and supports a smooth transition between shifts. Responsibilities • Supervise and lead a team of around 20 employees across three production lines. • Spend approximately 70% of time on the production floor providing hands-on support and guidance to the team. • Spend approximately 30% of time in the office reviewing production reports and preparing for the next shift. • Delegate tasks effectively to ensure production schedules and quality standards are met. • Work alongside team members on the line when necessary to support operations and resolve issues. • Write and maintain accurate production reports and documentation. • Hold the team accountable to established standards and performance expectations. • Monitor and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for production efficiency, quality, and safety. • Participate in hiring activities to build and maintain a strong production team. • Carry out disciplinary actions when necessary in alignment with company policies. • Use computer systems and Microsoft Office tools to track performance, prepare reports, and communicate with stakeholders. • Support a safe manufacturing environment and promote adherence to operational procedures and guidelines. Essential Skills • At least 1 year of leadership experience, which can be gained in any environment. • Proven experience supervising or leading a team. • Production supervision experience in a manufacturing or similar setting. • Strong supervision and leadership skills, including team motivation and performance management. • Basic to intermediate computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office. • Ability to delegate tasks and manage multiple production lines simultaneously. • Capability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment while balancing administrative responsibilities. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Previous manufacturing experience. • Familiarity with LEAN principles and continuous improvement methodologies. • Knowledge of OSHA guidelines and safety practices in a manufacturing environment. • Experience monitoring KPIs and using data to drive performance improvements. Work EnvironmentThis role is based in a manufacturing plant on second shift, offering a structured schedule and the opportunity to train on day shift for a period of time before transitioning. The standard second shift hours are Monday through Friday, 2:30 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., with an expected workweek of approximately 44–45 hours. The environment is production-focused, requiring time both on the floor and in the office, and involves regular use of computer systems and Microsoft Office to manage reporting and planning.
