Job Title: Power Pallet OperatorJob DescriptionThe Power Pallet Operator works in a high-volume inbound and outbound warehouse environment, operating a Raymond center rider power pallet truck to support receiving, shipping, and order picking activities. The role involves regular heavy lifting, use of RF scanners to process orders, and safe loading and unloading of trailers in a large, modern distribution facility.Responsibilities
• Operate a Raymond center rider power pallet truck to move product throughout the inbound and outbound areas of the warehouse. • Support receiving operations by unloading trailers, verifying product, and staging materials in designated areas. • Assist shipping operations by loading trailers accurately and safely according to load plans and shipping schedules. • Perform order picking tasks, selecting items according to pick tickets or RF scanner instructions and preparing them for shipment. • Use RF scanners to scan products in and out, update inventory records, and ensure accurate tracking of orders. • Handle materials safely, including lifting items up to 50 lbs regularly, with assistance provided for heavy or awkward items when required. • Work with or be open to using clamp attachments and related material handling equipment as needed. • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with warehouse safety standards. • Walk and stand for extended periods (up to an 8-hour shift) while performing warehouse duties. • Collaborate with team members and follow instructions from supervisors to meet daily production and shipping targets. • Follow all safety procedures and equipment operating guidelines to prevent accidents and product damage. • Support put-away activities by moving received product to appropriate storage locations when required. Essential Skills
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience operating a power pallet truck; candidates with at least 6 months of recent experience may be considered. • Proven experience in shipping operations, including loading trailers in a warehouse or distribution environment. • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis and perform heavy lifting tasks safely. • Ability to walk and stand for an entire 8-hour shift in a fast-paced warehouse setting. • Experience using RF scanners for order picking, receiving, and inventory tracking. • Background in warehouse operations, receiving, material handling, and general labor. • Experience loading and unloading trucks and trailers. • Ability to follow safety procedures and equipment operating instructions. • Strong motivation, a positive attitude, and a forward-thinking approach to work. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience operating a center rider power pallet truck; end rider experience is acceptable with willingness to learn center rider operation. • Experience using clamp attachments for material handling. • Raymond clamp or Raymond power pallet truck experience. • Order picking experience in a warehouse or distribution environment. • Put-away experience, including moving product from receiving to storage locations. • Previous experience as a warehouse worker, forklift operator, or in shipping and receiving roles. • Comfort working in a busy, high-volume warehouse with multiple shifts and a large team. The environment emphasizes safety, teamwork, and consistent workflow, with standard warehouse attire and appropriate safety footwear supported by a boot allowance. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
