Job Title: Mini-Bobtail DriverJob DescriptionThis role operates a mini-bobtail vehicle, similar in size to a small moving truck, to support daily warehouse and delivery operations. You safely transport goods, assist with order pulling and picking, and ensure accurate and timely deliveries while providing clear communication to customers and coworkers.Responsibilities
• Operate a mini-bobtail truck safely and efficiently to transport goods between the warehouse and designated locations. • Perform daily vehicle inspections and report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly. • Load and unload products from the vehicle, ensuring items are handled carefully and securely. • Pull and pick orders in the warehouse according to pick lists or instructions, maintaining accuracy and attention to detail. • Verify order quantities and item descriptions before loading to ensure correct deliveries. • Safeguard sensitive and confidential information encountered during deliveries and warehouse activities. • Communicate clearly and professionally in English with customers and coworkers regarding delivery details, timing, and any issues. • Use basic PC skills to review delivery information, update order status, or complete simple documentation as needed. • Follow all safety procedures in the warehouse and while driving, including proper use of equipment and adherence to traffic regulations. • Maintain a clean and organized vehicle and work area to support efficient operations. Essential Skills
• Experience driving commercial vans or small bobtail-style trucks, with safe driving habits and familiarity with basic vehicle operation. • Hands-on experience in a warehouse environment, including order pulling and order picking. • Ability to handle and safeguard sensitive and confidential information. • Excellent communication skills in English to speak clearly with customers and coworkers. • Strong organization skills to manage multiple orders and delivery schedules. • Basic reading and writing skills to understand pick lists, delivery documents, and simple instructions. • Basic understanding of PC use for simple data entry or viewing order and delivery information. • Background in van driving or bobtail driving in a logistics, distribution, or warehouse setting. • Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with varying daily workloads. • Reliability and punctuality, with the ability to adhere to changing start times and daily schedules. • Attention to detail to ensure accurate order picking and delivery. • Strong customer service orientation when interacting with delivery recipients. Start times vary depending on daily demand, typically around 6:30 a.m., with most days completed between 3:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m., averaging about 9 to 10 working hours per day. The environment involves physical activity such as loading and unloading goods and moving through warehouse aisles to pull and pick orders. You use basic PC systems to access order information and update delivery details while working in a setting that emphasizes safety, organization, and efficient handling of goods. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Richmond, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
