Job Title: Warehouse LeadJob DescriptionThe Warehouse Lead oversees day-to-day warehouse operations while providing hands-on leadership to a team of warehouse associates and drivers. This role ensures orders are accurately pulled, shipments are received and processed correctly, delivery routes are coordinated efficiently, and overall warehouse activities run smoothly. The position requires a leader who can effectively delegate tasks, monitor productivity, and maintain a safe, organized environment, while also stepping in to perform warehouse duties when needed. Responsibilities • Supervise daily warehouse operations, including order pulling, receiving, shipping, and inventory movement. • Coordinate and organize delivery routes for drivers to ensure timely and efficient deliveries. • Oversee all receiving activities and verify that products are accurately checked, documented, and processed. • Manage workflow across the warehouse and delegate responsibilities to warehouse staff based on operational needs. • Lead and support a team of approximately three Warehouse Associates and two Drivers, providing guidance and direction. • Monitor team productivity and implement practices that improve operational efficiency and accuracy. • Maintain a safe, organized, and clean warehouse environment in accordance with company standards and best practices. • Assist with hands-on warehouse duties, such as pulling orders, loading and unloading, and inventory tasks, as needed. • Communicate effectively with team members, customers, and leadership to ensure clear expectations and smooth operations. • Support customer service and logistics activities by ensuring orders and deliveries meet quality and timing requirements. Essential Skills • 2–3 years of warehouse supervisory or management experience. • Previous warehouse experience in operations such as shipping, receiving, and inventory management. • Working knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). • Experience using the Step One software program or similar inventory management systems. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Outlook and email communication. • Strong leadership skills with the ability to direct, motivate, and support a warehouse team. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in managing orders, inventory, and workflows. • Effective problem-solving skills to address operational issues and improve processes. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Physical capability to assist with warehouse operations, including lifting, moving, and handling products. • Ability to coordinate logistics and delivery routes for box truck driving operations. • Strong communication skills for interacting with team members, customers, and internal stakeholders. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with pricing and product management is preferred. • Background in logistics and distribution environments. • Customer service experience in a warehouse or shipping context. • Familiarity with janitorial, cleaning, or facility maintenance products is a plus. Work EnvironmentThe role is based in a warehouse environment focused on the storage, handling, and distribution of janitorial, cleaning, and facility maintenance products. Work is performed on-site, with regular interaction with warehouse associates, drivers, and other team members. The schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, providing a consistent daytime work pattern. The environment involves active, hands-on work, including moving inventory, coordinating shipments, and supporting delivery operations, with an emphasis on maintaining a safe, organized, and clean facility. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Virginia Beach, VA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $22.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
