Job Title: Sandblasting OperatorJob DescriptionThe role involves sandblasting and potentially painting large industrial components, manufacturing equipment, and small parts, which includes all aspects of preparation, setup, masking, and use of the blast booth. In addition to production work, the position requires assisting with general facility tasks to maintain efficiency and safety. The contractor may have opportunities to expand into documentation and inspection responsibilities over time, offering potential for growth in quality control and leadership support.Responsibilities
• Perform sandblasting and industrial painting tasks. • Prepare, set up, and mask components for blasting. • Utilize the blast booth effectively. • Assist with general facility tasks to ensure efficiency and safety. • Potentially expand into documentation and inspection duties over time. Essential Skills
• Experience in painting and industrial painting. • Proficiency in paint preparation, spray gun operation, grinding, sanding, and prepping. • Hands-on experience with sandblasting and paint preparation. • Knowledge of airless spraying techniques, including direct metal paint (DTM). Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in quality control and checks. • Forklift experience (Outdoor Sitdown). • Crane operation experience. • Documentation skills. Once trained, employees will transition to an afternoon shift with a $3 shift premium, working from 5:30 PM to 5:00 AM, Monday to Friday. Flexibility in scheduling is required Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Calgary, AB. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
