Travelling Field Service Technician Needed in Fairfield, NJ for Label Manufacturing Machines Career Opportunity, and if Open To Traveling Can Start Within the Same Within the Same WeekLocation: Fairfield, NJShift: 6:30am-3:30pm (Monday-Friday) Pay: $33.65/hour ; Overtime: $50.48/hour (overtime available) Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Travel Service Technician to support the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of industrial labeling equipment and automated labeling systems at customer facilities throughout the United States. This role combines hands-on mechanical and electrical service work with customer-facing support and training. The ideal candidate will be comfortable traveling frequently, working independently in the field, and providing exceptional technical service to customers.Responsibilities
• Travel to customer locations nationwide to install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair automated labeling equipment. • Perform preventive maintenance and equipment inspections to ensure optimal machine performance. • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automation-related issues and implement corrective actions. • Train customers on machine operation, setup, maintenance, and best practices. • Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals. • Document service activities and complete detailed field service reports. • Collaborate with engineering, technical support, and service teams to resolve complex equipment issues. • Maintain a professional relationship with customers while delivering high-quality technical support. • Support equipment upgrades, modifications, and system improvements as needed. Essential Skills
• Electromechanical troubleshooting • Mechanical assembly and repair • Electrical wiring and diagnostics • Pneumatic system troubleshooting • Servo motor and drive systems knowledge • PLC interface familiarity • Machine installation and commissioning • Preventive maintenance (PMs) • Blueprint and schematic reading • Use of multimeters and electrical test equipment • Labeling machinery or packaging equipment experience • Conveyor system troubleshooting • Machine calibration and setup • Industrial automation experience Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience as a Field Service Technician, Maintenance Technician, Electromechanical Technician, or similar role. • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills. • Ability to read blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical drawings. • Experience working with industrial machinery, packaging equipment, automation systems, or manufacturing equipment. • Excellent customer service and communication skills. • Ability to work independently and travel extensively throughout the United States. • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment. • PLC, servo motor, and industrial automation experience is a plus. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fairfield, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.65 - $33.65/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
