MIG Welder / Fabrication SpecialistJob DescriptionThis role focuses on MIG welding and metal fabrication, working with galvanized and stainless steel components based on detailed blueprints. You will contribute to the production of high-quality welded assemblies in a hands-on fabrication environment, ensuring accuracy, structural integrity, and consistent quality in every project.Responsibilities
• Perform MIG welding on galvanized and stainless steel components to produce high-quality, structurally sound welds. • Read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings to determine project specifications, measurements, and welding requirements. • Fabricate metal parts and assemblies according to design specifications, using appropriate tools, fixtures, and welding techniques. • Fit and align metal components prior to welding to ensure proper dimensions, alignment, and overall accuracy. • Inspect completed welds and fabricated assemblies for quality, completeness, and adherence to blueprint requirements. • Maintain welding equipment, tools, and work area in safe, clean, and operational condition. • Follow established safety procedures and best practices while working with welding equipment and metal materials. • Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and support continuous improvement in fabrication processes. Essential Skills
• Proven experience with MIG welding in a fabrication environment. • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication drawings accurately. • Hands-on experience working with galvanized steel in welding and fabrication. • Hands-on experience working with stainless steel in welding and fitting applications. • Strong fitting skills to prepare and align metal components prior to welding. • Attention to detail and commitment to producing precise, high-quality welds and assemblies. • Ability to follow safety guidelines and operate welding equipment responsibly. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Formal training or certification in MIG welding is highly beneficial. • Experience in general metal fabrication and assembly work. • Ability to work independently and as part of a fabrication team. • Strong problem-solving skills when interpreting blueprints and resolving fabrication challenges. • Willingness to learn and adapt to evolving fabrication techniques and processes. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Louisville, KY. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
