Job Title: Maintenance TechnicianJob DescriptionThis role focuses on performing preventative maintenance and repairs on a wide range of industrial equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable production operations. You follow established work methods, adhere to safe work practices, and support the installation of new process equipment while maintaining a clean, organized work area.Responsibilities
• Perform preventative maintenance on all production equipment while following standard work methods and safe work habits to keep operations efficient and safe. • Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs to equipment as needed and support the installation of new process equipment. • Train new employees in maintenance processes and procedures to ensure consistent standards across the team. • Serve as an exemplary leader in all safe work practices and procedures, promoting a strong safety culture. • Demonstrate and uphold 5S standards to maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. • Follow verbal and written instructions from leadership and execute tasks accurately and efficiently. • Support the development and training of other team members in maintenance standards and procedures. • Perform designated leadership duties in the absence of supervisory personnel, ensuring continuity of operations. • Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques and schedules. • Ensure proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines. • Follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications to troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunctions. • Perform regular preventative maintenance according to the PM schedule and provide feedback when schedule adjustments are needed. • Locate sources of mechanical problems by observing and listening to devices in operation and identifying issues accurately. • Prepare maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends related to equipment performance and maintenance activities. • Play a key role in the installation of new production equipment and the supporting infrastructure required for operation. • Read and interpret work instructions, then execute tasks in accordance with those instructions. • Complete all other duties as assigned to support maintenance and production goals. Essential Skills
• Strong troubleshooting skills for mechanical and electrical issues on industrial equipment. • Hands-on experience as a maintenance technician in an industrial or manufacturing environment. • Ability to perform mechanical maintenance on engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machinery. • Ability to perform basic electrical maintenance tasks safely and accurately. • Competence in reading and following diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications. • Capability to observe and listen to operating equipment to diagnose mechanical problems. • Ability to prepare clear, accurate maintenance reports and summarize information and trends. • Strong focus on safety and adherence to safe work practices and procedures. • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and execute work with attention to detail. • Ability to train and mentor other team members in maintenance processes and standards. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience working with 5S or similar workplace organization and cleanliness standards. • Experience working in an industrial or manufacturing maintenance environment. • Experience supporting the installation of new production equipment and related infrastructure. • Comfort taking on leadership responsibilities in the absence of supervisory personnel. • Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with production workers and maintenance team members. • Organizational skills to manage preventive maintenance schedules and minimize downtime. The environment involves working around engines, motors, pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and other production machines, following established safety and cleanliness standards such as 5S. You are expected to maintain a clean, organized work area and adhere to all site safety practices while performing hands-on maintenance tasks. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Birmingham, AL. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $35.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
