Job Title: Quality Control AdministratorJob DescriptionThe Quality Control Administrator (Junior Coordinator Admin) supports quality control and health, safety, and environmental functions by performing detailed data entry, generating documentation, and assisting with inspections and inventory tracking. This role bridges office and field operations, working closely with inspectors and safety personnel to prepare accurate reports and paperwork, while also helping with light shop and field support as needed.Responsibilities
• Perform accurate data entry and generate paperwork based on existing information, applying critical thinking to ensure completeness and accuracy. • Interpret data from quality control reports and other sources and make updates or corrections as required. • Work closely with inspectors to prepare quality control reports for review and submission to customers. • Collaborate with the HSE team to generate safety documentation and ensure it is ready for review prior to client submission. • Inspect received paint shipments and generate detailed reports, including batch numbers, visible damage, overages, and shortages. • Read and interpret drawings to support quality control activities, with training provided as needed. • Help identify masking areas on pieces to be painted to ensure proper preparation and quality standards. • Assist in identifying steel components with missing identification numbers and support the process of proper labeling. • Track equipment and inventory, ensuring accurate records of tools, materials, and supplies. • Support HSE and related managers in tracking safety equipment and PPE, including preparing small items for field crews and coordinating re-certification. • Participate in inspections as required to support quality control and safety objectives. • Proactively seek additional work and assist other divisions when primary responsibilities are up to date. • Assist with general housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean and organized work environment. • Provide occasional support to painters with basic brush work and related tasks when needed. • Interact professionally with both office staff and field workers, demonstrating alignment with the organization’s core values. Essential Skills
• Proven experience and familiarity with computers, including data entry and basic document preparation. • Experience in construction, warehouse, or similar industrial environments, such as working as a warehouse assistant manager. • Comfort working in a hands-on, blue-collar environment and willingness to support both office and field activities. • Physical fitness and willingness to assist with shop work and light manual tasks when required. • Strong communication skills to work effectively with inspectors, HSE personnel, office staff, and field workers. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, or willingness to learn with provided training. • Attention to detail and accuracy when handling data, documentation, and inspection records. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Industrial painting and sandblasting experience. • Experience in industrial, oil and gas, or warehouse environments. • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle. • CSTS (Construction Safety Training System) certification. • Fall protection certification. • Additional safety tickets or certifications beyond the minimum requirements. • Experience with shipping and receiving, including forklift operation and related tickets. • Interest in pursuing apprenticeships or additional technical training. You will report to a site leader and support field and office operations in an industrial environment. The standard schedule runs Monday to Friday, typically 8–10 hours per day depending on workload. Most competent team members complete their work within a 40-hour week, but overtime may be required during busy periods. You will work around industrial painting, sandblasting, and construction-related activities, using computers, standard office equipment, and interacting with warehouse and field operations. The environment requires comfort with industrial sites and adherence to safety practices, with appropriate workwear and PPE expected in field areas. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Burnaby, BC. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
