About this role

Job Title: Material HandlerJob DescriptionThe Material Handler provides shipping, receiving, storage, and order fulfillment services for finished goods, inventory, materials, supplies, parts, and equipment at the assigned facility. This role ensures that products are accurately processed, stored, and shipped in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements, while maintaining a high level of quality and efficiency in a dynamic warehouse environment.Responsibilities

• Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and shipment in line with established procedures and customer requirements. • Ensure customers receive the correct products within the requested timeframes by sustaining a high level of quality and attention to detail in all order fulfillment activities. • Receive materials and finished goods daily, verifying that the quality, type, and quantity of items are correct and that all required documentation, such as packing lists, is present and accurate. • Safely operate powered industrial trucks and other distribution equipment as required, including at various heights, following all safety guidelines and training. • Work effectively in warehouse areas with varying temperatures, including room temperature, cold-room, and freezer-room environments, while maintaining productivity and safety. • Follow established shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures to support accurate stock levels and timely order processing. • Understand and interpret team metrics to support continuous improvement and operational effectiveness. • Communicate clearly and professionally with internal personnel at equivalent levels to coordinate work, resolve issues, and provide customer-focused service. • Consistently follow policies, procedures, and instructions, ensuring work is completed accurately and on schedule. • Maintain strong attendance and be ready to start work on time each day to support operational reliability. • Participate in equipment training through one-on-one instruction and on-the-job training to develop and maintain required operational skills. • Handle packaged hazardous materials in accordance with applicable procedures and safety standards. • Adapt to varying degrees of stress throughout the day while performing highly repetitive tasks in a fast-paced warehouse environment. Essential Skills

• High school diploma or equivalent. • 0–2 years of related experience in material handling, warehousing, or a similar logistics environment. • Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and distribution equipment safely, including at various heights. • Basic computer skills, including the ability to navigate ERP systems, use Outlook, and work with shipping software to support daily operations. • Solid understanding of basic shipping, receiving, and inventory control procedures. • Ability to consistently and independently follow policies, procedures, and detailed instructions. • Strong attention to detail to verify product type, quantity, quality, and documentation accuracy. • Good communication skills to interact effectively with internal team members. • Customer service mindset focused on meeting delivery schedules and quality expectations. • Capability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including room temperature, cold-room, and freezer-room settings. • Physical ability to walk, stand, reach, and lift up to 25 lbs on a continuous basis, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs, as well as push, pull, climb, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in logistics within a life science or similar industry is preferred. • Experience in a production warehouse or distribution center environment is advantageous. • Experience in material handling, warehouse operations, forklift operation, and pick-and-pack processes is beneficial. • Ability to recognize deviations from accepted practices and escalate issues appropriately. • Comfort working with packaged hazardous materials under established safety protocols. • Willingness to learn through one-on-one instruction and on-the-job training to expand equipment and systems knowledge. • Flexibility to support varying operational demands and adapt to changing priorities. Work is highly repetitive and involves continuous walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 25 lbs, with occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. You will routinely push and pull up to 25 lbs and regularly climb, with occasional kneeling, crouching, and crawling. The noise level ranges from moderate to high, and you may handle packaged hazardous materials under established safety procedures. You must be available to work any shift with advance notice of shift changes and be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. Occasional local travel may be required. The nature of the operation can lead to varying degrees of stress throughout the day, and you will work with powered industrial trucks, ERP systems, email tools such as Outlook, and shipping software as part of your daily activities. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Marietta, OH. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $17.00 - $17.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
