Job Title: Controls Engineer Job Description This person will be joining a growing automation team in Otsego, MI, and take a key role in designing, developing, and implementing electrical control systems for custom machines and industrial automation equipment. The role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands on involvement, solving unique technical challenges, and seeing projects through from cradle to grave. Responsibilities
• PLC programming from scratch, editing and troubleshooting • Creation of electrical schematics with AutoCAD Electrical • Configure and support industrial control systems - PLC, HMI, networking, ect. • Troubleshoot and resolve control system and equipment issues in manufacturing and industrial environments. • System integration - testing, commissioning, and startup of automation projects. • Customer facing support, clear communication, relationship building, and technical guidance throughout the project lifecycle • Contribute to continuous improvement of control system designs, & standards • Participate in the full project lifecycle, from concept and design through installation and post install support Work Environment Collaborative, close knit engineering environment where team works together to solve challenging automation issues. Hours: typical 40 hour work week with minimal travel
• Flexible start time of either 7:00 a.m. or 8:00 a.m. • Ability to work remotely when needed to focus on project work without distractions. • At least 1 year of experience working with industrial automation, systems integration, or manufacturing • Experience with Allen Bradley PLCs • Creation of electrical schematics in AutoCAD Electrical • Strong customer facing skills, communication, and relationship building • Problem solving skills "Nice to have" Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering • Robotics experience • Safety controls • UL508A certification or experience designing UL508A-compliant control panels. • Industrial networking (ethernet/IP, Modbus) Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Otsego, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $29.00 - $48.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
