DescriptionIn this key role, you will provide manufacturing engineering leadership throughout a new model development program – from initial concept through final assembly. This will involve the application of lean manufacturing principles to ensure the highest quality, most efficient processes and products possible. You will:• Upfront Program Engineeringo Drive lessons learned into new producto Ensure GMRs and best practices are followedo Ensure product design is robust for manufacturingo Ensure LD commonality is followed / Drive LD disciplineo Drive SRI feasibility; Support structures processo Support clay feasibilityo Support product virtual buildso Ensure P-release quality of evento Ensure checking fixture/PCF/CMM fixture strategy support program deliverableso Ensure plant CMM/layout room will support program deliverableso Ensure measurement plan is robust• DCV & PCF Builds:o Develop pre-launch control plano Ensure production intent locators for DCVo Lead resolution of manufacturing AIMS issueso Utilize DVC to prove out measurement programs, handheld data and WBDM templateso Ensure closure systems studies are completedo Lead PCF process Develop build plan Ensure parts are ordered Ensure PCF fixture meet timing needs Lead execution of PCF1 buildo Ensure supplier gages are correct; Drive part review and die buyoffs• Launch:o Lead launch control plano Ensure all assembly plant metrology is ready to support launch control plano Ensure assembly plant fixtures support control plano Ensure metrology programs are readyo Ensure handheld data devices are readyo Ensure WBDM/Templates support launch needso Lead PCF2/PCF3 build events at planto Responsible for overall Bodyshop capabilityo Build event dimension summaryo Ensure stamped parts are acceptable for product build events and drive towards PSWo Drive sheet metal system issue resolutiono Drive closing effort proves out; Drive OK to Buy dimensional and functional issues to resolution.Additional Skills & Qualifications• Bachelor of Engineering in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related fields.• Min of 2-3 Years of Experience in Manufacturing • Willingness to travel and support launch activities at our North American Assembly plants (USA, Canada & Mexico)• Travel is required including co-location at a North American Assembly plant for 9 or more months depending on scale of vehicle launch.• 2 or more years of Microsoft Office experience to include Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint•40-50% travel required, but it is all local travel to Plants in Metro Detroit (zero long term travel as it is supporting Michigan Assembly Plant and local suppliers within SE Mi.)Preferred Requirements:with virtual manufacturing tools• Experience with tooling, process, quality, and or facility equipment in a production environment.• Excellent communication and presentation skills• Working knowledge of statistics (control charts, data collecting, etc.)Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Dearborn, MI. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $45.00 - $50.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
