Job Description:This position offers a unique opportunity to lead complex projects as a Mechanical/Product Design Engineer. You will take charge of critical systems from concept to launch, leveraging your expertise to develop strategies, mentor fellow engineers, and align solutions across various teams. This role is ideal for a technical leader capable of navigating ambiguity and influencing program direction.Responsibilities:
• Own and deliver complex, high-impact mechanical systems and architectures, driving technical solutions and strategy from concept to mass production. • Provide technical direction and mentorship, identifying and solving important technical problems while contributing to the broader organizational strategy. • Collaborate with and influence a wide range of internal and external partners, persuading audiences and driving progress on complex projects with dependencies across multiple functions. • Manage projects through early research and development or full development cycle, from early concept and prototyping through to validation and mass production, ensuring alignment with program strategy and execution. • Ensure engineering craftsmanship in your projects, actively seeking ways to improve components, systems, and processes while championing best practices in design, analysis, and validation. • Push state-of-the-art technologies and approaches to solve complex mechanical problems in consumer electronics, robotics, infrastructure, and research. Skills:
• Battery design experience • Demonstrated experience leading the design of complex assemblies and systems from concept to production. • Expertise in 3D/2D CAD, DFM/DFA, GD&T, material properties, and high-volume manufacturing techniques. • Proven experience providing technical mentorship and guiding the work of other engineers. • Experience contributing to product or technology roadmaps and influencing program-level strategy. • First principle approach to mechanical engineering problems. • Experience with NX and ideally Teamcenter. Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field and/or equivalent industry experience. • 6+ years of industry experience in mechanical design, with a demonstrated track record of shipping high-volume commercial products and/or designing complex electromechanical assemblies in a research/prototype environment. • Mechanical architecture work, particularly in the early design phase, is preferred. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Sunnyvale, CA. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $65.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
