Job Title: Software EngineerJob DescriptionWe are seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer with a strong experience in computer engineering or related fields to join our team. You will work on cutting-edge technology involving real-time embedded systems, contributing to high-profile projects with state-of-the-art equipment.Responsibilities
• Analyze and troubleshoot issues with in-house-built test equipment, focusing on video recording problems. • Collaborate with team members to integrate hardware and software, ensuring seamless operation. • Review and optimize existing code written in C for an embedded computer system running Linux. • Work closely with hardware features and create specialized factory loads for improved hardware performance. • Interface with FPGA specialists to ensure cohesive project development and resolution of technical challenges. Essential Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field. • Minimum of 5 years of experience in software engineering. • At least 3 years of real-time embedded software experience. • Proficiency in Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS), Linux, and bare-metal implementation of embedded systems. • Experience with embedded device drivers such as TCP/IP, UART, I2C, SPI, PCIe, preferably on Linux. • Strong development skills in C or C++ with at least 3 years of experience. • Solid understanding of multi-threading and multi-processing concepts and debugging techniques. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools including PowerPoint, Word, and Excel. • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Defense Secret security clearance. Additional Skills & Qualifications
• Experience in initial hardware start-up and troubleshooting. • Familiarity with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers. • Strong analytical and communication skills. • Experience in developing PCIe drivers on Linux. • Ability to update existing communications protocol specified in JSON. • Knowledge of real-time video concepts and performance testing. • Experience with modern software development processes, including configuration management, static analysis, defect tracking, peer review, and agile development life cycles. Work EnvironmentThis position requires onsite work due to the nature of the equipment and systems involved. You will work with cutting-edge technology, including infrared cameras and embedded systems. The work schedule follows a 9/80 structure, allowing for work-life balance while engaging in innovative projects. You will collaborate closely with FPGA experts and other team members in a dynamic and challenging environment. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Richardson, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $60.00 - $75.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
