Construction Scheduler This role focuses on developing, maintaining, and optimizing Critical Path Method (CPM) schedules for both preconstruction and active construction projects, with a strong emphasis on electrical and industrial work. The Construction Scheduler ensures that manpower, materials, subcontractor activities, and safety considerations are accurately reflected in master project schedules, enabling project teams to deliver work efficiently and on time. This position works closely with project leadership and field teams to track progress, identify risks, and implement recovery strategies when needed.---Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain detailed CPM schedules for preconstruction and active construction projects. • Integrate manpower loading, material procurement, submittals, prefabrication activities, and subcontractor schedules into comprehensive master project schedules. • Update schedules regularly based on field progress and verify logic, activity durations, and sequencing for accuracy and constructability. • Perform schedule quality assurance and quality control reviews and conduct schedule health checks to ensure logic integrity and realistic timelines. • Track critical milestones and overall project progress against baseline schedules, highlighting variances and potential impacts. • Develop schedule recovery and mitigation plans when projects experience delays, and support the implementation of corrective actions. • Support short-term planning efforts by creating look-ahead schedules and conducting progress analysis to keep field activities aligned with overall project goals. • Incorporate safety considerations and risk mitigation activities into project schedules to support safe and predictable execution. • Communicate regularly with Project Managers and Superintendents to confirm sequencing, validate progress, and align expectations. • Participate in planning sessions, pull planning exercises, and coordination meetings to align trade activities and resolve scheduling conflicts. • Translate complex scheduling data into clear, actionable insights and reports for field teams and leadership. • Support project pursuits by developing conceptual and proposal schedules that demonstrate realistic execution plans. • Assist estimating and preconstruction teams by identifying schedule risks and opportunities early in the project lifecycle. • Track production and manpower performance against planned schedules and provide feedback to project teams. ---Essential Skills
• 3–5 years of construction scheduling experience in commercial or industrial construction, with electrical construction experience preferred. • Strong working knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling principles and best practices. • Proficiency with Primavera P6 for developing and managing project schedules. • Proficiency with Microsoft Project for schedule creation, maintenance, and reporting. • Understanding of electrical construction sequencing, building systems, and construction documents. • Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and contracts to inform schedule development and updates. • Experience integrating subcontractor schedules and resource/manpower loading into master project schedules. • Strong analytical skills to evaluate schedule logic, identify risks, and propose mitigation strategies. • Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines simultaneously. • Effective written and verbal communication skills to collaborate with project teams and present schedule information clearly. • Ability to work independently while supporting multiple stakeholders across preconstruction and construction phases. ---Additional Skills & Qualifications
