Job Title: Environmental TechnicianJob DescriptionThe Environmental Technician safely consolidates, treats, stores, packs, transports, and disposes of hazardous waste while following environmentally responsible practices, policies, and procedures. This role supports industrial cleaning, wastewater treatment, spill response, and facility services, and requires maintaining detailed and accurate records to ensure regulatory and customer compliance.Responsibilities

• Consolidate, treat, store, pack, transport, and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with environmentally responsible and compliant practices, policies, and procedures. • Perform industrial cleaning activities, including pressure washing, to support facility and equipment cleanliness and safe operations. • Assist with wastewater treatment processes and related environmental services as directed. • Respond to spills and support spill response operations in a safe, timely, and compliant manner. • Provide general facility services and site cleanup, including yard work and other environmental field tasks. • Complete all required documentation accurately, legibly, and on time in accordance with applicable regulations and customer policies, practices, and procedures. • Maintain detailed and accurate records related to hazardous materials handling, waste management, and environmental services. • Operate equipment safely and effectively as required for environmental cleanup, industrial cleaning, and waste handling activities. • Follow all safety protocols, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any safety concerns promptly. • Work outdoors in seasonal and varying climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled areas as needed. • Participate in training and onboarding activities, including online modules and job shadowing, and apply learned procedures to independent work on site. • Perform other reasonably related tasks as assigned by management to support environmental cleanup and sustainability initiatives. Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of prior experience working with hazardous materials. • High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required. • Ability to work outdoors in all climate conditions and indoors in non-climate-controlled conditions. • Comfort with operating equipment used in environmental services, industrial cleaning, and hazardous waste handling. • Visual acuity to read labels and documentation and depth perception to work safely around equipment and materials. • Ability to hear vehicle warning chimes and alarms to maintain a safe work environment. • Willingness and ability to wear company-issued personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and respirator. • Capability to perform general labor, site cleanup, and environmental field work. • Ability to complete documentation accurately, timely, and legibly in accordance with regulations and customer requirements. • Willingness to work outside in seasonal elements and remain productive in varying weather conditions. Additional Skills & Qualifications

• HAZWOPER certification is a plus. • Experience with industrial cleaning and pressure washing is beneficial. • Background in wastewater treatment, spill response, and facility services is advantageous. • Experience in environmental field work and yard work is preferred. • Strong attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and following procedures. • Interest in meaningful work that supports environmental cleanup, sustainability, and ecological transformation. • Ability to adapt to a training process that includes both online modules and job shadowing. • Motivation to grow within an organization that offers upward mobility into roles such as plant operations and general management. • General labor experience in industrial or environmental settings is helpful. Work EnvironmentThis role is based at an environmental services plant that focuses on environmental cleanup and sustainability initiatives. Environmental Technicians work outdoors year-round in all weather conditions, rain or shine, and also in indoor areas that may not be climate-controlled. The position requires wearing full personal protective equipment (PPE) for the entire shift, including safety glasses, hard hat, steel-toed shoes, gloves, Tyvek coveralls, and a respirator. The plant currently employs around 45 environmental technicians and can reach up to 60 technicians at peak activity, providing a team-oriented environment with opportunities to learn from experienced colleagues. Training and onboarding combine online learning modules with job shadowing and can take approximately 2–3 weeks before technicians work independently on site; during this period, employees are paid, even during downtime between training activities. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.25 - $23.25/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
