Job Title: Mechanical Engineer (Electronic Enclosures)Job DescriptionWe are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Austin, TX. This role involves redesigning the power architecture for a new program, focusing on a 19-inch rack-mounted, 1U sheet metal enclosure to house a pizza box-sized electronic system. The project has been initiated by a senior engineer and will now transition to a contractor for continued development. Responsibilities • Design sheet metal components and electronic enclosures. • Work on mechanical packaging for PCB-based products. • Collaborate closely with an Electrical/Layout Engineer on PCB integration and enclosure-related design considerations. • Understand mechanical interface and packaging requirements, though not responsible for PCB layout. Essential Skills • Hands-on experience in designing sheet metal components and electronic enclosures. • Proficiency in mechanical packaging for PCB-based products. • Experience with Siemens NX preferred; candidates with strong experience using Creo or SolidWorks will also be considered. • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's Degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications • Experience with servers, routers, switches, or similar networking or electronic hardware products. • Candidates with substantial experience in Aerospace & Defense, focusing on sheet metal design, electronic enclosures, and PCB-integrated products, will also be considered. Work EnvironmentThis is an onsite position located in Austin, TX, operating Monday through Friday. The team is primarily based in Austin, ensuring collaboration and effective communication in a dynamic and engaging setting. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Austin, TX. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $39.00 - $41.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
