Job Title: Radiologic TechnologistJob DescriptionThis role focuses on delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services in a fast-paced outpatient environment, including orthopedics, podiatry, physical therapy, and urgent care. The technologist updates patient information in the Athena electronic medical record system, uses the Care Flow scheduling system, performs X-ray exams, supports fluoroscopy procedures, and provides compassionate bedside care while ensuring all imaging is completed safely, accurately, and efficiently. Responsibilities • Update and maintain accurate patient information in the Athena EMR system and other electronic records as needed. • Use the Care Flow scheduling system to manage and coordinate patient imaging appointments. • Perform X-ray examinations for outpatient, orthopedic, podiatry, physical therapy, and urgent care cases, with a primary focus on foot and ankle imaging. • Provide excellent bedside care by introducing yourself, escorting patients to the exam room, explaining procedures clearly, and addressing patient questions or concerns. • Clarify and follow physicians’ orders and ensure all necessary information and images are properly scanned and stored in the PACS system. • Maintain exam room cleanliness and organization after each exam and procedure, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment. • Obtain patient information and chart notes required for fluoroscopy procedures and support these exams as needed. • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of and compliance with safety standards, OSHA regulations, and HIPAA requirements. • Perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual quality control checks on imaging equipment and document results as required. • Troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and either resolve minor problems or promptly contact appropriate service support when needed. • Collaborate closely with medical assistants and providers, following guidance on imaging needs and prioritizing patient flow. • Manage a high-volume patient workload, with the ability to support locations that may see up to 100 patients per day and 25–50 X-ray exams. • Work as part of a cohesive team with other technologists in the urgent care center, contributing to a positive, supportive work culture. • Uphold professional standards of accountability, reliability, and punctuality in all aspects of the role. • Participate in cross-training opportunities, including training in CT and other modalities, to expand skills and support career growth. Essential Skills • Active ARRT certification in radiology. • Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification. • At least 1 year of hands-on radiology experience (beyond MRI or ultrasound only). • Proficiency in performing general X-ray examinations, particularly foot and ankle imaging. • Ability to use and update information in EMR systems such as Athena. • Experience with or ability to learn PACS for scanning and storing imaging data. • Strong understanding of safety protocols, OSHA standards, and HIPAA regulations. • Capability to perform daily, monthly, semi-annual, and annual quality control on imaging equipment. • Ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment issues and coordinate with service providers when necessary. • Demonstrated reliability, accountability, and punctuality. • Excellent bedside manner and communication skills, with the ability to explain procedures clearly to patients. • Ability to handle a high-volume patient environment and maintain quality and accuracy under pressure. Work EnvironmentThis position is based in a modern outpatient and urgent care setting with brand-new imaging equipment and a newly opened site. You will work alongside three other technologists in the urgent care center and typically support 1–2 providers per location. The environment is fast-paced, with locations seeing up to 100 patients per day and 25–50 X-ray exams, requiring strong time management and collaboration. The weekly schedule varies by site and is published in advance. Example shifts include: one location with Wednesday 7:45 a.m.–6:00 p.m., Thursday 8:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., and Friday 7:45 a.m.–12:00 p.m.; another location with Monday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., Tuesday 12:00 p.m.–5:00 p.m., Wednesday 7:45 a.m.–12:30 p.m., and Thursday 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The culture emphasizes teamwork, long-term growth, and internal advancement, with many leaders having progressed into new roles over time. Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Bridgewater, NJ. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $40.00 - $47.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
