Job Description: BAE Systems is seeking an experienced Business Analyst to support our Data and Analytics team within the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) Digital Innovation Directorate. This role will provide critical support across CMS in developing critical data driven insights, automation and decision making while supporting process innovation activities.
In this role you will: • Evaluate multi-discipline business insight needs as they apply to decision making and efficiencies between engineering and other functions to meet the evolving needs of the business. • Clearly document business needs and help translate into measurable metrics for interpret business performance. • Be accountable for follow on review and monitoring of developed metrics against the business needs. • Drive insight definitions from business needs and follow on insight from data - synthesizing not only what is happening but why it is happening. • Effectively communicate related findings and associated risks, opportunities and recommended corrective actions to all levels of the organization. • Be directly involved in developing data models and process flows as well as liaising with multiple stakeholders - mainly engineering, to document and/or validate the current state or As-Is business process. • Focus on process improvement and produce artifacts at the end of a project to ensure that we are continually doing our work more efficient and effectively. • Work with management to define the short-term and long-term objectives, key performance measurements and potential gains. • Work with stakeholders to identify business requirements, processes, and risks. • Analyze and identify opportunities to reduce process variation, improve process capabilities and optimize process performance. • Establish metrics to determine if the intended outcomes are achieved. • Work with cross-functional teams to identify methods to reduce process and business variations. • Prepare project presentations for management when needed. • Assist in planning, developing and implementing process improvements to meet business goals. • Use techniques that increase collaboration, predictability, transparency and promote a culture of experimentation and innovation. • Develop strong working relationships with development team and balance the needs of improving the technology while still delivering business needs.
Required Skills and Education: • Bachelor’s Degree in business or STEM field and 6+ years of relevant work experience to include project support and data analysis, data tracking and/or data visualization. May consider additional experience in lieu of degree. • Experience with defining or refining requirements for gathering data and leveraging it to drive informed decision-making within the organization. • Excellent attention to detail and ability to stay organized.
