Within Engineering, the successful candidate will perform Software Configuration Management (SCM) tasks including the fundamentals of Configuration Management: identification, change management, status accounting, audit and verification. Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this role, this position is to be performed full-time on site, conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing all SCM activities per the Configuration Data Management Plan and BAE Systems policies and procedures. The SCM will establish and manage software repositories using designated SCM tools (Git, GitLab, Bitbucket, Jira) for software version and baseline control, using BAE Systems procedures. They will perform and document all required software builds and change records to ensure reproducible software configuration baselines and deliveries. They will execute release and change control functions using the SCM tools to ensure software product integrity and meet program schedules.
The SCM will develop proficiency in the use of the assigned SCM tools, and comprehensive knowledge of company software configuration management processes and standards. They will stay current with industry standards and technology.
The SCM will also be responsible for leading and mentoring others in software deployments, configuring test stands in preparation for product testing. Ensuring all installation procedures are documented and followed. The SCM will also maintain all metrics related to installation, looking for opportunities for improvement and distributing quarterly. . Additionally, the SCM will be required to establish the Software Station Build Procedure process, taking over this responsibilities from engineering, learning the ‘how to’, documenting and mentoring other is this transfer of responsibility.
Essential Functions: • Exercise discretion and independent judgment in the performance of duties set forth above. • Responsible for work of others, assigning tasks, leading, mentoring and developing Jr SCMs. • Communicate effectively and proactively both orally and in writing. • Launch new programs, establishing SCM processes and procedures. • Drive conflicts and questions to resolution with minimal support. • Exhibit sound interpersonal skills interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel and customers. • Make decisions using sound judgment while complying with policies and procedures. • Analyze, evaluate, develop and implement processes and systems within budget and adhere to time requirements and schedule. • Travel between the multiple sites responsible for supporting.

Required Skills and Education: -- Minimum 2 yrs related experience with a BS --Minimum 2 yrs experience with Test Station Software Deployments and configuring test stations. -- Experience with AutoCM, Git, BitBucket, Jira, ClearCase and ClearQuest -- US citizen; must have an active Secret clearance
Preferred Skills and Education: - Two or more years related experience. - Bachelor’s degree in a technical field - Software Build experience - Solid knowledge of Software Configuration Management fundamentals - Familiarity with SAE ANSI/EIA-649B Configuration Management Standards - Experience working with government contracts
