Job Description: BAE Systems Identification Systems (IDS) seeks a strategic, analytical, and self-directed Project Analyst to join its integrated team in support of cost, performance, and schedule management of Department of Defense (DoD) Foreign Military Sales (FMS) projects. The successful candidate will provide critical project management and analysis support in a cross-functional environment, ensuring efficient operations and seamless coordination of project activities. This team member is primarily responsible for the management of financial resources, but opportunities are available to expand this role to more functional project management activities if the candidate desires.
The candidate will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to manage critical project workflows, utilizing strong analytical skills to maintain data integrity and provide the essential support needed to meet contract and program milestones in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Position responsibilities include: • Provide project analysis support by analyzing requirements, status, budget, and schedules to oversee the progress of the entire project lifecycle. • Assist with the development and maintenance of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) to ensure project tasks are accurately mapped to budget and schedule milestones. • Manage stakeholder communications and coordinate team efforts, including assigning action tasks and managing expectations throughout the project lifecycle. • Oversee project analysis responsibilities, ensuring strict adherence to company and contract policies. • Work independently on special projects, including responding to data calls and providing support for program-level initiatives to meet organizational goals. • Plan and execute project meetings, including the distribution of agendas, compilation of meeting minutes, and rigorous tracking of action items. • Collect, organize, and interpret technical data and financial information relating to FMS fleet installation and modernization to produce contract-required deliverables. • Support risk management initiatives by identifying areas of risk and applying established policies and procedures for mitigation. • Collaborate across various departments to provide backup analytical support and act as the primary point of contact in the absence of the Project Manager. This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station.
There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.
Required Skills and Education: • Bachelor's degree in business or a business-related discipline OR Associate degree and an additional 2 years of experience. • At least 3 years of experience in a project or program analyst role. • At least 2 years of experience supporting Department of the Navy (DoN) contracts or projects. • Proven ability to dissect complex data sets and derive logical, actionable conclusions independently. • Demonstrated capacity for applying sound logic and practical reasoning to solve problems where specified processes may not exist. • Ability to operate effectively under general direction, utilizing initiative to drive projects to completion without the need for detailed task-level supervision. • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) • Familiarity with Microsoft Project, SharePoint Online, and OneNote. • Proven ability to handle complex financial data and project schedules with extreme accuracy and attention to detail. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate and escalate issues professionally across different organizational levels. • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic, deadline-driven professional environment.

Preferred Skills and Education: • Advanced proficiency with MS Office products, with a strong emphasis on MS Excel (complex formulas, pivot tables, nested formulas) and SharePoint. • Proficiency with creating and updating MS Project schedules. • Experience developing and managing Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) • Experience with resourcing requirements. • Experience in creating financial projections, including estimates at completion (EAC) and estimates to completion (ETC). • Proven track record of improving existing processes or creating new workflows to increase efficiency.
