About this role

Eng I - Sys

Job Description: BAE Systems, Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within the Precision Strike (PS) Business Area has an immediate opening for an entry level/junior Systems Engineer (0-2 years’ experience) that is familiar with the overall Systems Engineering process and associated phases of the program life cycle. In this position, the candidate is expected to support our Advanced Precision Kill Weapon System (APKWS) portfolio of development projects.

The successful candidate will support business and engineering leadership to help grow the PGSS product line by applying BAE Systems’ broad technology base to fill real gaps that Department of Defense customers have in the area of smart weapons using advanced modeling and simulation techniques. Initially, the candidate will take on a general systems engineering role, having a strong desire to develop their skills in the systems engineering discipline. The ideal candidate will work with other subject-matter experts assisting with the next generation of precision guidance solutions for our diverse customer base. This role requires the candidate to be an outgoing, well-connected self-starter with a desire to grow the organization.

Our engineers are members of cross-functional, multi-disciplined teams focused on developing cost-effective systems that meet the needs of our customers. Candidates should be comfortable working with teams of all sizes and enjoy a mix of creative design work, analysis through modeling and simulation, assisting in the development of White Papers, presenting internally and externally, and supporting field test events.

Because this role involves a combination of collaborative/in-person and independent work, it will take the form of a hybrid work format, with time split between working onsite and remotely.
