Aircraft Mechanic II Crew Chief
Job Description: This is an excellent opportunity - located in the beautiful Spokane WA area working from the Fairchild AFB. Great pay, benefits, and relocation available. The Crew Chief - Aircraft Mechanic Level II – APG / Crew Chief performs KC-135 aircraft maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, launch/recovery support, and documentation in support of organizational/intermediate/depot-level maintenance requirements at Fairchild AFB, WA with potential TDY support to other KC-135 locations as directed. The position supports general aircraft maintenance, flightline operations, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and aircraft forms documentation. A sample of the duties include, but are not limited to:
• Perform KC-135 aircraft general maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, repair, servicing, launch, recovery, and documentation. • Accomplish pre-flight, thru-flight, post-flight, scheduled, unscheduled, time-driven, and inspection-related maintenance tasks. • Troubleshoot aircraft structures, landing gear, flight controls, engines, fuel systems, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, mechanical systems, auxiliary power, and related aircraft systems within assigned skill level. • Perform aircraft servicing, lubrication, tire/brake checks, panel removal/installation, component replacement, operational checks, and general flightline maintenance tasks. • Support aircraft towing, jacking, ground handling, marshaling, and use of ground support equipment as qualified and authorized. • Interpret and apply technical orders, maintenance manuals, work instructions, service bulletins, drawings, and other approved technical data. • Document maintenance actions in approved aircraft forms, records, logs, and Government maintenance systems. • Use aircraft maintenance tools, test equipment, torque wrenches, measuring devices, and other approved equipment as required. • Comply with Tool Control, FOD prevention, safety, quality, security, and local operating requirements. • Provide technical guidance or on-the-job training to less experienced mechanics as directed. • Support TDY maintenance operations at other KC-135 locations as required.
Certificates/Security Clearances/Other: • Must possess and maintain a current Secret security clearance.
