Salary: £90,000 - 130,000 per year
Requirements: Excellent verbal and written communication, with the ability to produce clear, concise reports and present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.Proven experience creating test plans, cases, procedures, and reports for system integration and verification.Demonstrated hands-on experience in qualification and verification trials, ideally within defence-related systems.Experience developing strategies to support formal product sell-off and acceptance.Familiarity with instrumentation including thermocouples, strain gauges, and accelerometers.Experience using data acquisition tools such as data loggers and video loggers in a test environment.Familiarity with configuration GUIs/HMIs, emulators, operating systems, and interface protocols.Ability to investigate, document, and report faults or anomalies in complex systems.Experience in integration and verification of software-inclusive or IP-networked military systems.Familiarity with UK Defence industry qualification and verification trials and the associated acceptance process.Experience with vehicle system integration and verification.Independent work-planning and estimation skills.Familiarity with one or more systems engineering tools such as IBM DOORS NG, IBM Rational Quality Manager, or Cameo Systems Modeler. Responsibilities: Plan, implement, test, document, and maintain solutions for the integration and testing of in-house developed and COTS/GOTS components, elements, subsystems, and/or systems.Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.Establish functional and technical specifications and standards, solve hardware/software interface problems, define input/output parameters, and ensure integration of the entire system or subsystem.Review, evaluate, and derive requirements for testability.Develop and direct preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems and/or subsystems.Coordinate subsystem and/or system testing activities with programs and other organizations.Perform analysis of test results and prepare comprehensive subsystem and/or system-level evaluation reports that verify and validate system performance.Write discrepancy reports and perform integration regression testing to verify and validate incorporated fixes to software, components, subsystems, and systems.Design comprehensive test plans, cases, procedures, and reports.Execute test campaigns in line with specifications and timeline.Validate and analyse test data for accuracy and completeness.Author, review, and sign off on all test documentation, including plans, reports, and logs.Provide clear, concise status updates to stakeholders, both internal and external.Plan and carry out Test Readiness Reviews.Identify, evaluate, and contract suitable test facilities via the supply-chain representative.Act as the primary technical liaison with contracted facilities.Coordinate equipment transport to and from sites.Develop and integrate automated test scripts into the broader tool ecosystem.Integrate large, complex solutions within the wider system-of-systems framework.Work within a large, multi-disciplinary engineering team to deliver systems on tight deadlines.Participate in verification and qualification trials.Ensure all testing activities comply with safety protocols.Enforce data and equipment security requirements during testing.Deploy to trial sites for the duration of test campaigns as required.Travel between sites for meetings, reviews, and de-briefs. We are urgently seeking to recruit an Integration and Test Engineer to be based predominantly on-site at our Ampthill, Bedfordshire offices. We are a full-time team within the MFC-LMUK Ampthill business unit, working in a large, multi-disciplinary engineering environment on systems delivered to tight deadlines. The role involves participation in UK Defence Industry verification and qualification trials, field deployments to trial sites as required, and collaboration across programs and other organizations. We expect testing activities to comply with safety protocols and to maintain data and equipment security throughout testing.
