Salary: £48,000 - 88,000 per year
Requirements: We are seeking an experienced cyber security professional with strong technical expertise and a proven track record of delivering security programmes within a complex environment.We are looking for extensive hands-on experience with the Microsoft Security portfolio, including Microsoft Defender suite, Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Sentinel, and Microsoft Copilot for Security.We need experience operating and improving Security Operations Centre (SOC) functions.We require strong knowledge of cyber security frameworks, risk management, governance, and compliance.We are looking for experience managing security incidents and coordinating response activities.We need the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.We are seeking excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills. Responsibilities: We will lead and manage the councils cyber security operations and strategic security programme.We will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, government security frameworks, and industry best practices.We will develop and implement cyber security policies, standards, and procedures.We will manage cyber security incidents, investigations, and response activities.We will identify and mitigate cyber risks across the councils technology estate.We will work closely with Information Governance, Data Protection, ICT, and service teams to ensure a coordinated approach to security and compliance.We will provide cyber security leadership and advice to senior management and key stakeholders.We will drive continuous improvement across security monitoring, threat detection, vulnerability management, and security awareness.
