Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements: Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and applied experience.Hands-on experience with system design, application development, testing, and operational stability with strong proficiency in Python.Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in large corporate environments; strong SQL and database querying skills.Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools, with the ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.Experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption of AI-assisted tools within delivery practice.Advanced understanding of agile practices including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.Demonstrated experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle.Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.Familiarity with modern front-end technologies.Familiarity with Python, React, and web frameworks.Practical experience with cloud-native development (AWS).Knowledge of Fixed Income products, with emphasis on syndicated and secondary loans. Responsibilities: Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting to build solutions and break down technical problems.Develop secure, high-quality production code, and review and debug code written by others.Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.Apply knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve automation value.Lead communities of practice across Software Engineering to drive awareness and use of new and leading-edge technologies.Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.Develop and integrate trading workflows and loan reference data for the Secondary Loan Trading desk.Build scalable, front-office-facing services that streamline trading workflow management and enhance desk productivity.Design, implement, and troubleshoot components end to end, accounting for upstream and downstream dependencies and technical implications.Translate evolving business demands into clear technical requirements and pragmatic solutions under time constraints.Apply structured troubleshooting to isolate root causes and resolve issues across services and data flows.Adhere to secure coding practices and engineering methodologies to deliver stable, maintainable systems throughout the SDLC.Work independently with minimal supervision.
