Requirements: We require a bachelors degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field.We require a minimum of 5 years of professional experience with the C programming language.We require demonstrable passion for programming, such as pet projects or contributions to open-source software.We require experience with embedded systems and bare metal programming.We require the ability to see the bigger picture and suggest and implement process improvements.We require a willingness to embrace AI for more efficient workflows.We require the ability to communicate clearly and accurately in English, both verbally and in writing.We require strong self-motivation, the ability to prioritize multiple streams of work, and the ability to meet deadlines.We require excellent attention to detail.We require legal authorization to work in Canada.We require the ability to travel internationally, including to the United States.We require the ability to lift, carry, and move test hardware and equipment up to 30 lbs.We require the ability to work in an electronics lab environment following ESD and safety protocols.We require the manual dexterity to work with various hardware for testing purposes. Responsibilities: We participate in daily stand-up meetings with the team.We analyze technical requirements.We design software to implement formal requirements.We implement software designs.We debug, identify root causes, and correct software defects.We create and maintain formal software design documentation.We assist other groups with understanding product behavior.We work with product management to respond to customer comments.We work at a lab bench performing hands-on testing, setup, and troubleshooting.We connect and interact with small components, cables, and test fixtures.We stand or sit for extended periods depending on testing needs.We visually inspect hardware devices and test systems.We use hand tools such as screwdrivers for assembling and maintaining test setups.We connect and disconnect various connectors on a daily basis as testing needs require.We may also perform other duties outside our function or trade, with training provided if necessary.
