Salary: £57,000 - 73,000 per year
Requirements: We require 15+ years of experience in energy procurement, utility development, or power markets for large-scale infrastructure projects, with substantial exposure to European energy markets across multiple jurisdictions.We require deep expertise in EU electricity markets, including day-ahead, intraday, and balancing markets, national capacity mechanisms, network connection processes, and transmission system planning.We require experience securing 100+ MW of power capacity and navigating complex network connection agreements, PPAs, or other offtake agreement structures in Europe.We require proficiency in analyzing energy market dynamics, regulatory frameworks, and grid constraints to inform strategic decision-making.We require strong stakeholder management skills and experience building relationships with TSOs, DSOs, national regulators, ACER, policymakers, and critical equipment vendors.We require excellent communication skills and the ability to translate complex grid and regulatory dynamics into actionable business strategies for technical and non-technical audiences.We require a bachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.We require a field relevant to the role as demonstrated through coursework, training, or professional experience. Responsibilities: We develop creative and novel means of energy deployment, including grid-connected and behind-the-meter solutions, to drive the fastest timelines to energization while maintaining social license.We lead energy procurement and markets strategy to secure multi-hundred megawatt power capacity for AI infrastructure across EU wholesale electricity markets and national capacity mechanisms.We structure utility partnerships and commercial agreements that prioritize speed to energization and scale.We own utility and regulatory stakeholder management across multiple European jurisdictions, building strategic relationships with TSOs, DSOs, national regulators, and ACER.We drive energy markets and policy strategy for AI compute facilities, monitoring EU network codes, national grid codes, and regulatory developments.We engage policymakers to address grid capacity challenges and expedite approval processes for critical infrastructure.We partner with engineering and delivery teams to translate energy market dynamics and network constraints into actionable capacity acceleration strategies.We develop deep market intelligence on regional power availability, transmission constraints, and connection queue dynamics to inform site selection and deployment strategy.We structure innovative commercial frameworks and partnership models, including PPAs, network use of system arrangements, and behind-the-meter solutions, to enable faster power delivery and mitigate grid capacity risks across our European datacentre portfolio.
