About this role

Salary: £60,000 - 88,000 per year

Requirements: Proven success in a Salesforce development role, including ownership of architecture decisions rather than only implementation.Deep command of Apex, Lightning Web Components, and SOQL/SOSL, plus confident declarative configuration including Flow, object modelling, validation rules, security, and sharing.Experience integrating Salesforce with external systems through REST/SOAP APIs and platform events.Some experience leading, mentoring, or managing developers or admins, even informally, and a genuine interest in doing more of it.A track record of improving sales or operations processes, not just maintaining existing ones.Comfortable working directly with sales, operations, and other non-technical stakeholders, understanding needs, challenging assumptions, and explaining trade-offs in plain terms.Familiarity with version control, CI/CD, and Salesforce DX.Salesforce Application Architect or System Architect certification, or clear progress toward one, is desirable.Broader tooling perspective is desirable, including related platforms such as Braze, Zendesk, or marketing and workflow automation tools.Experience in a technology company, ideally in or around embedded finance or fintech, is desirable.Experience working within and across software engineering teams, not just inside a Salesforce silo, is desirable.A strong interest in AI-driven automation and where it can reduce manual work and cost to serve, is desirable. Responsibilities: Own the technical direction and quality of our teams part of the Salesforce org, including object model, security and sharing, automation, and integrations.Make or guide architecture decisions with clear reasoning about trade-offs.Stay close enough to the code to review it credibly, help solve hard problems, and lead incident response when something breaks.Hold the line on engineering practice, including CI/CD, Salesforce DX, testing, code review, and release management.Set goals, give feedback, and support career development for developers and admins at different levels.Build a team environment where people can grow and where feedback runs both ways.Work directly with sales, operations, and other customer-facing teams to understand how they work and where Salesforce can do more for them.Partner with other engineering teams to coordinate integrations and provide best-practice guidance on using Salesforce APIs.Act as a strategic advisor, helping teams rethink processes rather than only building what they first asked for.Contribute to the Salesforce roadmap and ensure changes are scalable and aligned with the wider business.Own platform health, including security, data quality, and governance.Drive adoption of automation, including AI-driven automation, that cuts cost to serve without cutting quality.Represent our teams technical view in cross-team and leadership discussions.Build and run our own pod of up to four people, drawn from developers and admins.
