Salary: £62,000 - 102,000 per year
Requirements: Strong commercial experience as a Java developer.Experience in REST API and authentication mechanisms such as OAuth and Basic Authentication.Experience with messaging systems and middleware technologies such as Kafka, NATS, Solace, Tibco, or RabbitMQ.Experience working with SQL and databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, or Hadoop.Experience with Java multithreading and concurrency, web services such as SOAP and REST, DB2, JMS, MQ, NDM, and SFTP.Familiarity with industry best practices and standards, software development tools, and techniques.Experience developing distributed systems.Experience using containers such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience in low-latency software development in a microservices environment, high-performance architectures, and high-throughput applications is a plus.Experience in C++ or C# is beneficial.Experience in SBE is desirable.Experience with JNI is a plus.Ability to work with distributed teams across multiple time zones.Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a similar discipline. Responsibilities: Build and maintain common solutions for trading platform monitoring, trade reconciliation, application recovery, and other essential support functions.Participate in design sessions with the development team, including employees and vendors across multiple locations.Evaluate and adopt new development tools, libraries, and approaches to improve delivery quality and align with the latest industry trends.Analyze existing software systems and propose solutions to improve overall design, architecture, and efficiency.Communicate with stakeholders to help shape requirements and design decisions.Liaise with production support teams in troubleshooting and debugging applications.Ensure best practices and standards are followed throughout the application development life cycle.Provide user and support documentation.Ensure applications meet performance and scalability requirements.Work comfortably with AI-based coding assistants and AI-powered SDLC processes.Drive applications development through hands-on development and bug fixes of our Java application.
