About this role

Salary: £50,000 - 90,000 per year

Requirements: We require at least 3 years of experience in a similar role.We require the ability to attain NPPV3 and SC clearance.We require UK residency for a minimum of 5 years to obtain clearance.We require the ability to articulate network concepts and solutions to technical peers, non-technical stakeholders, customers, and internal staff.We require a strong understanding of Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking concepts, including VLANs, routing protocols, subnetting, and STP.We require hands-on experience with Aruba Switches or similar vendors such as Cisco, HP, or Juniper.We require experience managing and troubleshooting private circuits.We require experience with WAN technologies, including DIA, IPSEC over internet, and EWLs.We require a strong understanding of routing protocols, including OSPF and BGP.We require experience designing and maintaining multi-site routing topologies.We require experience troubleshooting routing issues such as routing loops, asymmetric routing, and route redistribution issues.We require experience administering a large firewall estate across multiple sites, including Fortinet or Checkpoint.We require experience writing, reviewing, and maintaining firewall rulesets aligned with operational policy and security standards.We require familiarity with NAT, UTM features, IDS/IPS policies, and VPN technologies such as IPSEC, IKEV2, and route-based VPNs.We require experience taking packet captures and using analysis tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot connectivity issues.We require experience with network monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, SolarWinds, or FortiAnalyzer.We require experience identifying security best practices when deploying solutions.Desirable experience includes SD-WAN solutions such as Fortinet SD-WAN.Desirable experience includes basic SD-WAN configuration concepts such as overlay and underlay, path selection, and link monitoring.Desirable experience includes SIP technologies.Desirable experience includes SDN technologies such as VMware NSX, Cisco ACI, or OVN.Desirable experience includes Red Hat OpenShift solutions. Responsibilities: We manage and support networking operations across multiple Motorola sites and remote customer sites.We maintain firewall rules, routing policies, NAT, and security objects across multiple technologies.We design, review, and maintain network documentation and topology diagrams.We work with third-party vendors to troubleshoot outages and circuit faults.We participate in an on-call rotation after 6 months of service.We conduct capacity planning, performance tuning, and optimisation.We ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements such as ISO 27001, Cyber Essentials, and NCSC security best practices.We travel to internal or customer sites as necessary, including potential international travel.We support the Incident Management team to ensure efficient delivery and resolution of incidents and problems.We continue our personal and professional development to stay current with emerging industry and technological trends and threats.
