Requirements: Bachelors or Masters degree, or equivalent experience; technical degree preferred5+ years with a Bachelors degree3+ years with a Masters degreeStrong proficiency with Swift, SwiftUI, and XcodeProficient with AI-assisted development tools (e.g., Claude Code) as a core, daily part of the engineering workflowExperience maintaining and running multiple projects/products in production environments, including bug fixing, troubleshooting, and monitoringExperience writing unit tests, creating testable code, and debugging issues using monitoring toolsProficiency with version control systems, such as GitExperience using, and ideally contributing to, design systemsDemonstrated knowledge of advanced and relevant iOS technologyComfortable working with several forms of Apple mobile technologies, including different form factors, widgets, and Apple WatchStrong understanding of software design principles, data structures, design patterns, and computer science fundamentalsKnowledge of API/schema design principles to solve data requirements for iOS experiences Responsibilities: Improve existing systems on our Expedia Group Design System (EGDS) team using iOS engineering knowledgeAdvocate for the value engineering adds to the design lifecycleMentor more junior engineersLead complex, well-defined projects that deliver high-quality UI patterns and experiences for travelers and suppliers across Expedia GroupApply an AI-first approach to problem-solving, using tools such as Claude Code to accelerate development and share best practices with the teamLead design and engineering reviews and enforce accessibility and performance budgets within the iOS design systemImplement sophisticated UI interactions, animations, and transitions, with a strong understanding of layout and screen flowSelect appropriate technology and iOS design patterns to implement solutions across multi-module systemsLead cross-team discussions and align on outcomes when projects span team boundariesOwn high-level design for multi-module iOS systemsTest, monitor, debug, and fix issues within established SLAsBuild tracing across modules and lead root-cause debugging effortsDesign easily testable and observable softwareMonitor, instrument, and troubleshoot performance metrics, including frame rate, memory usage, and battery optimizationLead roadmap tradeoffs across a feature set, weighing sequencing and risk against business needsIdentify business problems at the project level and provide solutionsDesign how applications integrate with the underlying iOS platform, including offline-ready flows and cachingCollaborate with UX designers, engineers, and product managers to develop new and improved user experiences and interactionsLead team workshops and coach engineers on design and delivery practicesContinually seek new technical skills and share knowledge with the teamDevelop and test complex or non-routine software applications to ensure they meet design requirementsProduce clean, maintainable, optimized, modular code with good naming conventionsApply API/schema design principles to solve data requirements for iOS experiencesUse software frameworks effectively to write simpler codeLead and clarify code evolution in code reviewsDevelop prototypes to influence strategy and advise on technical limitationsIdentify opportunities to increase efficiency across the feature set or moduleTake an iOS-centric approach to analyzing issues and identify structure, people, process, and technology componentsCompile and report on major operational or technical initiatives, such as root cause analyses, to larger groups Technologies: AIAPIClaude CodeFlowGitSupportMobileNetworkSwiftXcodeiOSUX UI DesignMVCMVVM More:
