Salary: £21,000 - 61,000 per year
Requirements: A degree, apprenticeship or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related field.Microsoft, Google Cloud, software development, integration or automation certifications are a bonus, but not essential.Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript, with experience in SQL and cloud-based development.Experience with C#, Java or other programming languages would be an advantage.A solid understanding of APIs, authentication, web services, data formats and relational databases.Experience developing internal applications, automations or integrations that support day-to-day business operations.Familiarity with modern software development practices, including Git/GitHub, testing, code reviews, documentation and deployment.Experience with integration platforms, automation tools, low-code solutions and cloud technologies.Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Azure or Terraform would be beneficial but is not essential.A good understanding of GDPR, cyber security, secure development, access management and data protection.The ability to balance rapid innovation with building reliable, scalable solutions.Around 3–5 years experience in software development, integration engineering, automation engineering or a similar technical role.A proven track record of delivering software, applications or automation solutions used by business teams in a live environment.Experience within professional services, finance, accounting, legal, tax or audit would be advantageous, but transferable experience from other industries is also welcome.Occasional travel to other our offices for workshops, discovery sessions, project delivery and team collaboration. Responsibilities: Design and deliver innovative solutions, leading the development of internal applications, integrations and automations from initial concept and prototyping through to testing, deployment and ongoing support.Build scalable applications, APIs, scripts and automated workflows using modern technologies such as Python, TypeScript, C#, SQL and cloud-based platforms.Develop secure, reliable integrations between our platforms and third-party applications using APIs, web services, databases and automation tools.Work closely with teams across the firm to understand challenges, identify opportunities for improvement and deliver practical technology solutions.Build intelligent tools that make the most of our Google Cloud Platform, BigQuery and AI capabilities.Develop high-quality, well-tested solutions using modern software engineering practices, including Git/GitHub, code reviews, CI/CD, monitoring and technical documentation.Enhance and optimise existing applications, automations and integrations, reducing manual effort, increasing reliability and improving the user experience.Work alongside data engineers and analysts to ensure applications use data effectively while complementing our wider data platform.Ensure every solution is designed with GDPR, information security, authentication and data protection at its core.Share expertise, mentor colleagues and contribute to developing best practices as our Innovation Team continues to evolve.
