About this role

Salary: £75,000 - 75,000 per year

Requirements: We require exceptional written and spoken English, with the ability to explain technical complexity clearly and empathetically.We look for a genuine passion for helping people and the emotional intelligence to handle high-stakes technical situations with composure.We expect an exceptional academic track record from high school and university.We prefer an undergraduate degree in a technical subject, or a compelling alternative path.We look for practical, hands-on experience supporting Linux systems.We expect exposure to three or more of the following: KVM or OpenStack; Docker, LXD/LXC, or Kubernetes; block, object, and network storage technologies; networking topics such as bonding, firewalls, bridging, switching, or MTU tuning.We value a strong troubleshooting mindset, including the ability to review stack traces or logs, identify OS/application-level bugs, and guide customers on next steps.We expect basic programming logic in any language to help parse code and work effectively with our engineering teams.We look for a proven track record of going above and beyond to deliver outstanding results for teams or customers.We require you to be based in our London, UK office.We expect availability for a regular weekend working rotation.We value interest in open source development and technology. Responsibilities: We deliver technical support to our employees and customers.We provide AV support for office conferences and events.We own and manage support cases from problem qualification through to full resolution.We transfer cases to colleagues or involve senior engineers when needed.We partner directly with customers through remote sessions, ticketing, and live conversations to understand and resolve technical roadblocks.We work closely with internal engineering teams and regional peer groups to bridge complex code fixes and customer needs.We communicate commitments, timelines, and expectations transparently and predictably.We develop an understanding of the Ubuntu development process so we can explain engineering fix timelines to customers.We author and maintain accessible knowledge base articles and share lessons learned across the community.We participate in a regular weekend working rotation to maintain continuity of care for our global partners.We serve as a key technical support resource for local teams and employees in our London office.
