Job Description Summary We are looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer (Qt/QML) to join the Maternal & Fetal Care (MFC) Systems & Software Engineering team. In this role, you will be a core member of the product software team responsible for designing, developing, integrating, testing, and maintaining high-quality software for MFC products. You will contribute to software architecture, feature development, defect resolution, performance improvement, and sustaining activities in a regulated medical device environment. The ideal candidate is a strong team player with excellent communication skills, hands-on technical depth, and the ability to deliver results in a fast-paced Agile environment.

Job Description Roles and Responsibilities: In this role, you will:
• Design, develop and maintain/improve the features using the latest software development technologies and infrastructure. • Develop high-quality C++, Qt, and QML software on embedded Linux platforms, ensuring reliability, maintainability, scalability, and performance. • Understanding software architecture, design patterns, modular design, and object-oriented design principles. • Apply SDLC practices and methodologies such as Agile, Lean, CI/CD, software and product security, documentation, refactoring, and testing techniques. • Work with product, technical, program, and system leadership to understand product requirements, user needs, product vision, and multi-generation technology plans. • Translate requirements and product vision into well-defined user stories, software tasks, design inputs, and implementation plans. • Participate in software design reviews, code reviews, interface definition, impact analysis, and technical decision-making. • Analyze defects, perform root cause investigation, debug complex software issues, and implement corrective actions. • Collaborate with verification, systems, hardware, program, and product teams to ensure complete and high-quality feature delivery. • Understand the complete product, its modules, interfaces, and dependencies while developing expertise in the assigned component or subsystem. • Identify opportunities to improve development efficiency, reduce duplication, increase reuse, and strengthen software development processes. • Ensure compliance with applicable quality, regulatory, security, documentation, and process • Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers. • Lead complex feature implementation and defect resolution activities.
Qualifications/Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in STEM discipline such as Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. • Minimum of 7 years of professional software development experience in a production software environment. • Strong hands-on experience in C++, Qt, QML, and object-oriented analysis and design on embedded Linux platforms. • Experience working in Agile software development teams with exposure to SDLC, CI/CD, version control, code reviews, and defect management practices. • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills, including experience working with existing and complex codebases. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while collaborating effectively with cross-functional and global teams.
Desired Characteristics:
• Experience in medical device software development or other regulated product development environments. • Understanding of healthcare product development, quality management systems, design controls, traceability, verification, and validation practices. • Proficiency in leveraging approved AI-assisted software development tools to enhance coding efficiency, test automation, code quality, debugging effectiveness, and overall engineering productivity while adhering to security, compliance, and quality standards. • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, test automation, static analysis, performance profiling, and software quality improvement practices. • Exposure to tools such as Git, GitLab, Jenkins, Jira, Rally, Coverity, SonarQube, or similar engineering toolchains. • Strong analytical thinking, ownership mindset, communication skills, and ability to work with global cross-functional teams across time zones. • Proven ability to ramp up quickly on complex and unfamiliar codebases and learn new languages, frameworks, tools, or product domains as needed.
