About this role
Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a Manager of Business Development to lead the identification, evaluation, and execution of Joint Ventures (JVs) and Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) across India. This role is not administrative; it is a high-impact commercial position requiring a professional who can translate complex healthcare data into actionable investment strategies for prospective partners. The incumbent will be responsible for building a robust pipeline of high-value opportunities, moving beyond traditional dialysis services to engage with super-specialty hospital chains, single-specialty groups, and institutional healthcare providers.
Key Responsibilities
• Targeted Market Mapping: Conduct rigorous analysis of the Indian healthcare landscape to identify high-growth segments, specifically focusing on nephrology and other emerging specialty chains.
• Commercial Deal Architecture: Lead the end-to-end deal lifecycle, including financial modeling, valuation, and the structuring of commercial terms for JV agreements.
• High-Level Stakeholder Management: Build and manage professional relationships with hospital boards, CXOs, and government health officials to secure long-term partnership commitments.
• Pipeline Execution: Proactively generate and convert leads into executed contracts, ensuring all partnerships meet Fresenius Medical Care’s global compliance and operational standards.
• Contractual Oversight: Manage the relationship with existing partners to identify expansion opportunities and ensure adherence to all agreed-upon commercial milestones.
Mandatory Qualifications & Experience
• Education: MBA from a Tier-1 business school is mandatory.
• Professional Background: 5–8 years of experience in high-stakes commercial environments, specifically:
• Management Consulting: Healthcare verticals at Big 4 firms (e.g., EY, PwC).
• Investment Banking: Commercial/Relationship management side with a focus on healthcare M&A or institutional sales.
• Healthcare Services: Business Development roles within multi-specialty hospital groups or specialized healthcare chains.
• Domain Expertise: Proven understanding of the Indian healthcare provider contracting landscape; knowledge of PPP models is highly advantageous.
• Language & Communication: Exceptional professional English communication skills and the ability to present complex business cases to institutional investors.
Key Competencies
• Commercial Acumen: Strong financial literacy and the ability to evaluate the viability of healthcare investments.
• Executive Presence: Ability to influence and negotiate with senior-level decision-makers and regulatory bodies.
• Target Orientation: A disciplined approach to meeting lead generation and deal closure quotas in a fast-paced environment.
