About this role
Job purpose: The QM Searcher is responsible to conduct clearance drills in accordance with the assigned specifications as tasked by the QM Team leader in the areas to be sampled. Being a representative of the National Authority, the QM Searcher must maintain a high level and appearance of professionalism at all times. The QM searcher may also be called to assist in other QM duties involving dealing with other Mine Action NGO’s or Companies . Responsibilities: General responsibilities:
• In the absence of the QM Team Leader, assume the duties and manage the team. • Work within the framework of DMA/NPA core values • Ensure that the PPE, tools and equipment are present, clean and in working condition at all times. • Competent on use of DGPS systems for collection and uploading of data relating to QC activities • Adhere to all NPA policies, regulations and procedures • Adhere to the NMAS/ and NPA QM SOP at all times • Accept responsibility for their safety and act in a disciplined way at all times. • Follow the instructions of the QM Team Leader • Report all safety concerns or any damaged or missing tools to the QM Team Leader or other superior • Search and clearance of explosives in dedicated area or lane. • Other tasks given by the QM Team Leader or other superior. Required qualifications: Education: Must have:
• Experience as IED Technical Survey and Clearance Searcher and Team Leader (Acting) • EMMC searcher trained • Basic Drone operator user (Internal NPA Qualification) • Successfully pass relevant training courses • Successfully pass operational accreditation Desirable:
• Demining/BAC course • Survey/NTS/Community Liaison course • NPA EOD II (Theory) Experience: Must have:
• Proficiency in written Arabic and basic computer skills Desirable:
• 3 years’ experience as deminer • Written and verbal proficiency in English Other qualifications:
• Verbal and written proficiency in Arabic • Good interpersonal skills • Good communication and understanding skills • Able to work effectively under stressful situations, & adapt to difficult conditions • Willingness & ability to travel within the country Personal Competencies:
• Proactive and pragmatic attitude • Problem solving mindset.
