Location: The Swindon Academy Reporting to: Cluster Estates Manager Contract: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week Salary: £24,978 per annum plus 10% shift allowance

We are looking for a dedicated Premises Operative to join our Site Team and play a vital role in ensuring our Academy remains a safe, compliant, and well-maintained place for students, staff, and visitors.

The Role
Working under the direction of the Cluster Estates Manager, you will be responsible for a wide range of site, maintenance, security, and grounds duties, including:
Supporting the day-to-day operation, safety, and security of the Academy site Carrying out general maintenance, repairs, and handyman tasks Assisting with grounds maintenance, gardening, and litter management Monitoring heating, cooling, and building management systems Conducting fire and building safety checks Supporting school events, lettings, and educational trips Managing deliveries, furniture moves, and site logistics Working with contractors and ensuring compliance with health and safety procedures Maintaining Academy vehicles and supporting transport activities when required. What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
Have practical maintenance, facilities, or site management experience Be able to carry out minor plumbing, electrical, decorating, and repair tasks Demonstrate a positive, flexible, and proactive approach to work Have excellent organisational and problem-solving skills Be committed to maintaining high standards of health, safety, and security Be confident using Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel Work effectively both independently and as part of a team Be willing to undertake training and professional development opportunities. Essential Requirement
