Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for the right candidate to join the Programme Delivery Team in Digital Services as a Senior Project Manager. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager to join a successful and highly motivated team transforming the way we work and driving forward the digital agenda. This is a great opportunity for anyone joining the team delivering key strategic projects that will improve our interactions, safety and care of our patients.

Main duties of the job

Responsible for managing and leading on strategic and trustwide programmes to ensure successful implementation of a portfolio of work involving several projects or workstreams to a high quality standard.

An important part of the role is ensuring the programmes of work are robustly managed, tracked, and monitored with risks and issues clearly identified and mitigated. Reports will be published and provided to key boards where required.

Job description Job responsibilities

The postholder will be expected to be skilled in:

Management of large programmes of work involving 3rd parties as well as wider trust representatives and leads. Ensure programmes of work follow appropriate project governance and relevant documentation and highlight reporting. Ensuring clinical safety aspects are fully accounted for working with Clinical Safety Officers throughout the trust. Ensure programmes of work are fully approved with appropriate procurement and financial approval. Ensure risks and issues are managed and mitigated in accordance with any decisions tracked and noted. Work with wider digital services colleagues to track and understand impact of change, engagement and benefits tracking.

Person Specification

Qualifications / Professional Registration Essential

Highly Developed specialist knowledge across range of project management procedures and techniques underpinned by theory. In-depth knowledge of IM&T Systems and procedures acquired through a combination of specialist training and relevant study to masters degree or equivalent level. Degree or substantial project management experience. Qualification and experience in project management methodology to PRINCE2 Practitioner level or equivalent.

Desirable

Knowledge of ITIL

Experience and knowledge Essential

Have experience in project management techniques. Skills and experience in POISE procurement guidance and processes. Knowledge and practical understanding and experience of Official Journal of the European Union (OJEU) procurement regulations. Skills and experience in NHS IM&T business case models. Skills and experience in process mapping utilising relevant software.

Desirable

Knowledge of or experience in coaching and mentoring practices and tools Knowledge of or experience in Quality improvement tools, techniques and methods Skills and experience in process mapping utilising relevant software
